Anybody running Office suite on their netbook. My work handed them out to us yesterday and it would be really helpful if I could run Outlook, Word and Excel.

I have the office 2007 suite on my netbook, David. I also use openoffice on that same box. Both are okay, nothing speedy (my netbook only runs XP :(, not vista or win7).

I installed Word 2007, Powerpoint 2007, Excel 2007, and Outlook 2007 all without issue.

I have a Lenovo S10 that I run MSO or OO on without problems (XPP32 with 2 GB RAM). The Atom processor is actually OK for light use ... you won't be running Hulu desktop or anything, but for internet browsing & office things I have no problems. I'd prefer a slightly larger computer with more power (think Asus 1410 with the SU2300, HDMI output) as my only portable .. but I can't complain about the S10 too much ... at 2.4 pounds or so it is easy to carry.

It depends remarkably on which netbook you've got. I'm a big fan of Open Office, should ms office not be an option.

Running 2007 on my ASUS 1005HA with no problems at all. My use is just causal out in the field use. Actually have a lot of stuff on there that most people would not run on a netbook - but it's just for quick stuff.

Sweet...got Open Office downloaded and installed. To be honest I'm completely overwhelmed in a Windows environment. I'm so used to a Mac OS that I'm having a hard time adjusting going back and forth between the two lol

Nothing like actually having Office installed.

Another big fan of open office here. is your netbook running xp or 7? also not sure if this would be a possibility, but if you wanted, you could install a flavor of linux made specifically for netbooks and get everything running a little faster and get a enviroment that could feel more like os x.
