has anyone else solved the problem of not being able to get your lit cigar back up to your hotel room cause you can't carry it lit through the building? i refuse to put mine out. so, i plan ahead and pack a spool of fishin line. i tight it off and drop it from the balcony so i can haul it up when i'm ready to head indoors.
is this excessive? does anyone have a better solution?

Meanwhile, the guy in the room underneath yours occasionally is blessed with cigar smoker mana? :r

Great work. I wanna see this on youtube!

I just use the old "cup it in your hand and walk fast" method.

I hope it doesn't swing into someone's room :D

I've developed a technique more simple in execution, but similarly clever and cunning:

1. Finish smoke.

2. Ascend to room.

3. Light another.

I plan ahead and start and finish it in the same area. I got some funny looks from some people in Hong Kong a few times. Some smiles from some girls in Singapore. I would never even have thought of having to get my stogie back to the room. You get points for imagination!

perhaps u can deploy a "Cone of Silence" like in Get Smart to not only contain ur cigar smoke but allow you to discuss national security in private!

On the extremely rare occasion that I know that I will want to finish a cigar up on the room balcony, I just make sure to have a tubo that will fit the stick. Cigars do go out and there isn't anything wrong with relighting them.

Funny approach though.

It would take me all night to find the fishing line after half a cigar and a few drinks. Other people might enjoy watching though.

thanks. although it's probably the best solution, after one use, that thing would just smell awful.

Para's are good shooters. I have a P-14 with a extra Les Baer top with BoMar sights.

Back to the thread....maybe a tall skinny glass jar that you can put the lid on.

We cigar smokers sure are a resourceful bunch, aren't we? If someone happened to be watching, I'm sure they would be wondering WTF??

i considered the tall skinny jarry. but it's less portable than a spool of line.

I don't understand what the big deal is about letting the cigar go out and relighting it. Many times during a herf, I'll get up to use the head or to get a refill on my beverage and upon my return, my cigar has gone out. It's not as though the cigar has been left for hours.

Just my :2. YMMV

i don't mind relighting if it's shortly after it goes out. i just don't like to have to wait for it to go out. actually, after tying-off, heading up stairs and hauling it up, the cigar is normally out. but the adventure is so much fun!
