These are shots of ship iced up last Tuesday after coming across Lake Ontario in a Westerly Gale with 10' seas........unfortunatly, I had a fall while up on the bow. Landed on my back, left elbow and smacked my head, resulting in a mild concussion, bruised elbow, back and neck. We couldn't get to where the ice cleats or sand where kept before this happened, hence I came home a week early to recouperate. Doing better now.

Ah Lake Ontario, I hate that lake, where I went to college was right on the shore. Its the reason we get plowed with so much snow.

Wow, Dave! I'm glad to hear that you are on the mend!! :tu
I was talking to a USGC Chief the other night at the B&M. I mentioned that you were out on the ship, and he said he hoped you and the guys were doing well, out on the water. He's a maintenance Chief for their choppers, and said the conditions had been pretty rough the last time he was out on a flight... :(
Take care and relax!
Charlie
Sorry to hear about the fall, hope things heal up quickly.

Ah Lake Ontario, I hate that lake, where I went to college was right on the shore. Its the reason we get plowed with so much snow.
That's the first Great Lake I ever witnessed in person from the shore. I was blown away, it's like looking out over an ocean. My wife's uncle had a place out towards Pultneyville and the house was on the lake there. Sometimes when we would be up there over Christmas and the wind was howling... good lord that was cold. I know I wouldn't want to be out on it in a small craft.

I hope you are feeling better in short order.
But, I think if you had drilled a really deep hole through that ice on deck, you could have gone ice fishing. ;)
