I'm heading out to NYC tomorrow to visit a friend and experience new years in New York. While I'm there, I might as well go and pick up some cigars with my Christmas money. Anyone know some good stores? I was reading someone else's post about JR Cigars, but I can find any mention of it and it seems like it closed down. It sure would be nice to go in a lounge to smoke, but alas I am only 20 and I know some places require you to be 21 to stay. If anyone else is going down or around, I hope you have a good one!

The CA site had a video or two on smoking joints in the city..Good luck in the cold and crowds.

I thought smoking joints was still illegal in the States. Maybe NY is further ahead of the west coast after all.

Have a blast in NY brother, and don't forget to visit the giant Christmas tree in Times Square for all of us.

Merchant's East (http://merchantsny.com/east/east_home.php) is an affordable restaurant, lounge, and bar. Cigar lounge is located downstairs through the double doors. The lounge does not open until 5:30PM.

Carnegie Club (http://www.hospitalityholdings.com/) is more of an older crowd with upscale decor. Pricey and proper attire required.

Nat Sherman (http://www.natsherman.com/events.cfm?CFID=1659006&CFTOKEN=b5ba0b86a25202a2-E2D51E97-19B9-F18B-220D73E4E9EB3C1E&jsessionid=a230b0517c996b088fa7242773796b3186d1) has a small lounge upstairs. Never been upstairs because it was being renovated while I was there.

De La Concha (http://www.delaconcha.com/) is a quaint shop with friendly service and cafe style seats located throughout the shop. They sell the harder to find cigars like Anejos, Opus, etc., make sure to ask because they hide the rare cigars in the walk-in humidor.

I prefer Merchant's East out of the aforementioned shops and lounges. Hope that helps. Have a wonderful time in NY :ss
