View Full Version : what do you smoke if you have 30 minutes

I am new. I find most cigars take me an hour or more to enjoy. What do people smoke if they only have 30 minutes like on the way home from work or while feeding the animals in the winter?

I bought a box of Cabaguan Guapo Juniors recently. They are a petite corona size. A half hour-ish nice cigar. There are many out there though. Half the fun is the search :)

Used to like the La Vieja Habana Silencios back in the day.

Now, I would take the long way so I could at least finish a Party Short. ;)

In the other world, Hoyo du Maire, Partagas Chicos, Punch Margaritas, Monte Joyitas. A bit longer, JLP Petit Cazadores, Cohiba Siglo I, Party Short, ERDM Lunch Club, RASCC

3rd vote for Party short. These used to be my "going out to a bar" cigar (until they banned smoking in bars here). a good quick smoke, but closer to 45min or 1hr to finish.

Some good suggestions already. I'll add from my humi:

Padron Delicias, illusione 68 (more like a 45 min,) Partagas Chico, HdM Sabrosos, Diablo Picante, Oliva Special G.

Although I usually don't feed the animals--I make my kids fend for themselves.

Many mentioned here that run me way longer than 30min. I like the RP Juniors - you can get boxes of 40 for about $60, or less if you watch the specials. Famous often has them in their Cigar Monster specials. You can get natural & maduro in boxes of 40 or you can get Vintage '90, '92, & Sun Growns for about $15.00 a 5 pack.

I can smoke a pc in the same time as a tpc so I have many options to choose from. A robusto takes me about 40-45.

Nothing. Half the point for me is that the cigar forces me to slooooooow down. I don't rush a cigar and I don't smoke much that burns in less than an hour.

Guillen Goviado or Fuente Hemingway Short Story. The catch is that if I have only 30 minutes I generally do not light up because experience has shown that it usually takes me 45 minutes... :)

third for special G Maddie, but anything really that is that short isnt worth smoking, Im with the whole slowing down mentality. I like to just smoke, and its nice to relax a bit on the days off. but if you need to light something up anything really small is good,

*OT* what is the actual name of Partagas Shorts?

Thanks for all the recomendations. I am honored to be part of a group that treats a new guy this well. I agree on the slowing down but it is cold outside. I don't have any heat in the shop right now and I don't want to waste half a good smoke cause I got too cold.

I cut a lancero size in half and smoke the foot end first, as it will unroll if left to be. Oliva V or Taboo SFO are my go-to sticks for this.

Who cares about the size of it?

:)

Price per 30 min is more like it.

You can find a 30 min smoke that get's hot or doesn't have the flavor of a bigger cigar and at times can cost the same as a robusto.

I would rather smoke a good robusto or PC for whatever time I have then smoke a smaller cigar all the way thru that costs the same.

I used to smoke the RP Sungrown Juniors becuase it was an ok short smoke but they cost almost $3 each! I would rather smoke a better $3 smoke for 30 min and throw the rest away.

kust try a couple of different petit corona sized cigars.the rocky patel sun grown petit corona is definetly worth a try.
if you like big rg cigars try some of the short robustos.

There are a couple I like:

- The Macanudo Maduro Ascot. I keep a tin of them around and get about 20 minutes out of them.
- The Arturo Fuente Short Story. They're a surprisingly big smoke for such a small stick.

While there are many cigars out there I normally finish in about 30 minutes, or cigars I'd be willing to toss after 30 minutes, the reality is, I probably wouldn't even light one, because I don't want to _feel_ that I have to finish it in 30 minutes.

Famous also has a HDM Petite in a box of 20 for $19.95, which I smoke on the way to work 20 -30 minutes... :tu

If you like coffee flavored cigars, the Drew Estate Tabak Especial Colada Dulce Natural & Tabak Especial Colada Negra Maduro cigars nice 30 minute smoke! :D

I can't find anything I can smoke in 30 minutes....I'm slow I guess...but I would vote for the Short Story or a Padron 26 #35 as far as a quick smoke.
