With the new year creeping up on us, does anyone have a "list" of things they would like to do?

Mine, of course, centers around fishing more this year.

Anywhere with my daughter!
Another Keys trip (in the works)
Possibly a quick trip to the Bahamas
Trout in the mountains with my dad in the spring.
Rooster Fish off Baja's Beaches (not likley this year, but there is a possiblity)

I'm hoping not to die, and I'm going to the Keys on the 6th.
After that, I'm just gonna resume trying not to die.
I think I have like 45 more doctor appointments. I'm pretty sure they said I was suppose to go see Dr. Moamar Qadaffi the Motion Specialist. I swear. I have no idea what the lady said. That doesn't sound good though. :)

We've never been to Sturgis (and probably won't this year either).

(that's Sturgis the event, not just the location:D)

My goal is to keep Scott (Shilala) alive. Everything else is candy corn.

Good luck with that.
It may require a transplant or two. Try to start saving some extra body parts, will ya?

Not dying is an important goal! I'm with you on that one. My wife said last year was my limit on near death experiances. Where are you going in the Keys Scott? Ill be in the Lower Middle Keys (Big Pine/Cudjoe area) the end of the month.

Lisa and I are going to Tavernier from the 6th to the 14th.
We're staying at Ocean Pointe Suites (http://www.opsuites.com/).
I'm gonna go diving, spend most of the time in the water. If Lisa wants, I'm going to get her certified, but I think she'll be just as happy, if not happier, to sit on the boat and work on umbrella drinks. :)

I'd like to see the Grand Canyon and Glacier National before my departure. A trip to the Amazon would work, too.

Aside from traveling, I'd like to meet and enjoy all my grandchildren one day (I have a 5 and 6 year-old presently, so I have quite a few years). Include my wife in that. That would complete the circle for me. :tu

Mine is more of a prayer for the upcoming year, hoping the government changes their mind and sends my class to San Diego for 10 months like we were supposed to be after the academy instead of going to Del Rio which is where they want to put us now to save money.

Cleveland to Miami. Driving down from Miami.
I'm not an Orlando fan, but I do like Sarasota up to Tampa.
I'm gonna have to take the kids to Disney World again one of these days. I'd rather get a poopy stick in the eye, but it's gonna have to happen, I suppose.

I'll keep everything I got from the neck up, but I'm kinda worried about borrowing anything you've been using. :D
I got radar equipment installed in my back last year, and now they wanna stick some kind of pump in my gut that squirts stuff in my spinal cord through a tube.
I'm thinking it'd be just easier to kill a hooker and have my brain transplanted, but that's all socially frowned upon and stuff. :(

Absolutely. I gotta get to Sarasota first so I can go see Eff and go fishing and see the Pirates at spring camp. I love that stuff. :tu
My kids love Siesta Key. I can abandon them there for days and they'll never know I'm gone. :D

The wife and I are planning a fishing trip across the USA when I retire.
We will hit Florida for a week of tarpon then head west hitting as many blue ribbon rivers as possible, then head up to Alaska for some sea run salmon fishing.

When you get close to my neck of the woods...I would not miss the San Juan or Green.... About as EPIC of trout water is you get. Both very easy to walk if you don't have a drift boat or plan on getting a guide to float you down....

If our list is just this year.... Would like to spend a week lake front on Island Park Res. with private slip for the boat. Do a lot of boating, some fishing on the Henry's.....have some fine cigars on the deck overlooking the lake.... Just some good relaxing fun.

Best case scenario, salmon fly hatch....:D

Add in 4 nights on a houseboat on Powell.....

Plus long October weekend in Jackson and I'll call it a good year of local travel....

(now good luck making that happen, will be lucky to get 2/3)

I used to fish the S.J. below Navajo dam every winter with a bunch of guys from the rec.outdoors.fishing.fly newsgroup. Had to wade through ice on occasion. We caught a bunch of big fish on tiny size 22-26 hooks. Beer, cigars, fishing, fellowship. I miss those trips but decided that winter fishing and traveling long distances to catch a trout had run it's course with me.

It is just an AMAZING river...

I am with you on Winter fishing, but don't mind getting road tripping....as long as it is not too far.
