Nothing wrong with a Bic. It's just another butane lighter.

I think some are impartial to them because they can add "flavor" to the cigar while lighting.

Looking down on using a Bic is snobbery.;)

Butane is odorless and tasteless. Bic's do not add flavor.

I can see that is strange to see someone using a Bic in that hardly cigar rag-mag and not a "luxury" lighter that costs hundreds. :r

Ive used a Bic, and other various cheapo lighters found on convenience store counters on numerous occasions. The only problem with the cheapo soft flame is keeping them ignited outdoors if there is a slight breeze.
What makes a Bic any different from a $2.35 Ronson Jetlight?? When youre desperate, youll use anything!

It's a pic of Pete Johnson of Tatuaje with a Frank in the left hand and what looks like a Bic in the right. I've torched many a cigar with a Bic, no problemo.:ss

Citronella (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citronella_oil) is a scented candle, Salmonella (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmonella) is a bacteria, no?

I like to rub two sticks together until one ignites to light my cigars. I also just moved into a sweet @ss cave. :D
I have used a Bic before. My biggest complaint about a soft flame is touch ups.
