Size – 50 x 7.25
Wrapper - Nicaraguan Havana Subido
Binder – Nicaraguan
Filler – Nicaraguan

Very solid construction. 1 large vein down the front. Medium tobacco aroma with chocolaty notes on the foot.

First third
Easy draw with a good amount of smoke. Very peppery nose exhale. Light nondescript flavors with a short woody aftertaste. Spicy notes pick up on the palate. Flavors quickly smooth out. Nice spicy clean tobacco flavor with hints of dark chocolate. Nose exhale staying peppery.

Second third
Very smooth. Medium bodied. Tobacco and leather primary with hints of citrus flavors. The peppery nose exhale mellows out some which is welcomed. Consistent throughout this third with slightly increasing strength and spice on the palate. Creamy and smooth with a good burn throughout.

Last third
Staying consistent in flavor. Nice amount of spice on the palate and on the nose exhale. Never overpowering.

Conclusion
A pretty decent cigar. Not incredibly dynamic but the flavors which were present throughout the smoke were enjoyable. Lots of tobacco flavors and a balanced amount of spice.

I still think the band is very classy. Very early 20th century/late 19th century.

I've only smoked the robustos but I like these.
It is probably for me,the best JC Newman has offered over the years.

I read that it is a revival of a label from the 1880's-1890's, and the name itself is a reference to J.C. Newman's and Fuente's desire for it to be sold only in B&Ms; i.e., the "Brick House".

I prefer the robustos, but I like the toros too. :dr

Had one of these this Fall. I thought that it was a good cigar for the price. If I recall correctly had it while sitting over a camp fire which I always find the two smoke smells always play off each other and make for a enriched experience.
I would definitely buy another one of those!!

I stocked up on the robustos the other day, which for me means about half a box.

Funny thing is that's probably why I bought the cigar in the first place!!!! Don't know too much about cigars and names, that's why I joined up on this forum.
I do the same with wine, if it has a cool lablel and isn't too cheap and not too expensive I'll try it!! :D

I tried them on the recommendation of the tobacconist, but I've also been known to be lured by a pretty label.

Good review I picked up a robusto the other day. All of the comments of it being well built and a solid smoke are funny. If it wasn't solid it would be like false advertising.

Really, you didn't like it? I've never had one that wasn't excellent. What was wrong with yours?
