So I have a good number of uncelloed cigars an unfortunately they all are starting to get some minor damage to them. Does anyone have any quick fixes for this problem? Other than "be more careful"?

you coudl use pectin to repair tears and such. you can buy it at a grocery store. although it will be a little shiny where the fix is.

That is the ultimate question though. if you take htem out of the cello it (makes me feel as if) breaths better. But it is very easy to damage them. Honce the ongiong debate!

I keep mine in the bags that B&Ms give me. They come in a variety of sizes that can hold 10, 5, or just a single.

single finger baggies are great for prevention, but pectin seems to be the way to go for repair. good luck :tu

Gonna end up with a LOT of bags and bag hunting soon!!!

As long as you treat them with care, they will be fine!!!

If they are larger quantities, I keep mine in the original boxes until I get down to about 5 or 6. They are pretty safe in the box.

I guess I should add, I only have a ~150 count desktop humi. My top tray is where I keep my "special" cigars (ISOMs, HTF NCs) most of which are un-celloed. I have pectin, but it is more of the foot chipping that I'm worried about. Some of these smokes might go out in MAWs and such and I'd rather take care of them as best I can.

with limited space i know its easy to stack sticks awkwardly to get them all to fit, but you have to be careful, and make them comfortable. if space is an issue, i'd suggest getting a tupperdor going, unless you have the means to pick up another / upgrade your humi

It's not against the rules to re-use cello.

Of course if you ship a cigar that normally doesn't have cello with it, then it might be wise to include a note stating that you put the cello on it and why.

I might just do that. So anyone know where I can find some cello?

Not sure where to buy it new, maybe someone at a B&M might know or even have some they can give/sell you.

For the times I need it, I just re-use it from cigars I've smoked, it can be a bit wrinkled or a little loose, but it still protects well enough.

I say you could use some single baggies for some of your more special cigars that you are worried about.

Also grab another humi and have one for those special sticks so your not digging in it everyday. That could cut down on all that shuffling around they might get.

Third would be a cooler. That way you can
store certain cigars in boxes and place them in the bottom for safe storage.

Another idea is to save your tubos and put them in there. I know most of mine just collect dust and I might start using them for this reason.

So I bought myself a nice little tupperdore, to put all of my "non-celloed special sticks" in. This way I avoid having them being moved around alot when I am looking for a certain cigar. That, and now I have more room in my desktop.

So the debate really just gets down to cello off or cello on...from what I've gathered over the years, the cigar industry hype is that with cello on the cigars will still breath and age and as far as I can tell from my own experience it holds fairly true...also, you don't want to place cigars of different types together in a humi with the cello off as they'll start to blend flavors...I usually try and use ones with cello on to seperate the different types of cello off (like that naughty stuff that comes from south of Miami :D)

Use ziploc bags to pack 'em nice and tight so they don't move around.
