I found the results of this poll on the Famous site when searching for info on Vega Talanga Corojo cigars. You can check out their results here (http://www.famous-smoke.com/cigars/misc/hpg.cfm/pt/nwsltr111103.html) if you like. I wondered what the results would be here.

I guess mine wouldn't fit into that grid as I'm at $2-$5 range.

Same here, I try to stay under $6.00, especially for "everyday" smokes, but my range varies significantly and I love cigars on sale!

I try to target $125 - $150 for a box of 25, so that would be $5-$6....

I too like saleGars! I tend to stay in the $2-$4 range. I am working on trying different brands and vitolas. It took awhile to get an understanding of nc flavors and I am in the learning curve for cc.

Well, I can't just hit one of those buttons though, now can I??? If I hit the $2-$4 button, I am lying every time I smoke a cigar that cost me $4.35 and If I hit the $4-$7 button, I am lying every time I smoke a cigar that cost me $3.74!

I guess I may average $5-7 a smoke. But one of my go to smokes(3 a week) is the CFO #7. 50cents! But I am a sick bastage when it comes to cigars. At yesterday's herf I went from a Camacho 10th anni to a Punch Punch, then a CFO #7 lonsdale. And then went Cuban again. I like the change from mild to medium to full. I almost never go full, full. I am just weird that way. :hn

Torano Exodus 1959, b/w $5 & $6, is my go-to smoke. But, I occasionally go higher, so I'm still alright in the 4-7 range.

Honestly most of my cigars cost about $8 each. But I do love some nice $4 smokes. For my everyday smokes I would say the average is about $7-9

I just love smoking the good stuff... its a blessing and a curse.

The average price for all my cigars is $3.78. This is the sum of all the boxes and samplers purchased over the last couple of years divided by the total number of cigars. I purchase everything on sale or shop around for the best deal.

I keep a bundle of decent under 3 bucks a stick for working around the house and out on the water ,reason if I drop it in the drink or on the ground or I wreck the stick it doesn't piss me off as much as if it were a 20 dollar stick

I don't have a specific every day cigar, but the ones I smoke regularly are about $4-5 a pop. Some are a tad under $4.:cb

My son however... is happy lighting up Sancho Panza Double Maduro at $3.00 a pop. He could live of those little buggers.

Since I average about 2-4 cigars per month, I try and buy only higher end stuff allowing me to let them sit.

smokin5
10-26-2008, 08:51 PM
Since I average 15 or more cigars a week, I can't be blowin' serious money on the "everyday" smokes. I probably spend $1.25-$1.75 on my afternoon smokes, saving most of the good ones for evenings & weekends.
Thank you, CBid!

:tpd: I fall in this exact category.
Although when I'm at work I smoke a lot of $2.00 stogies such as A. Fuente Curly Head Deluxe Maduro's etc. This is because I'm a FF/Paramedic and can be called out at any moment. I don't mind tossing a $2.00 stogie but a $4-$8 kind of bugs me. At home I'm in the $4-$8 as far as everyday cigar.

Lately, I've been on the high end of the range of this pool, my motto is "Life is too short to smoke cheap cigars.":ss

I do smoke all ranges of cigars but my regulars are on the high end. I don't smoke cigars anywhere near as much as I used to, there are days that I don't smoke one at all.

Da Klugs
10-26-2008, 09:44 PM
Depends on the day.

The label doesn't apply to my frame of reference. Lunchtime smoke is probably the closest. Ranges from $ 3 to $100. Again it depends on the day. :)

Typical day... $ 5-7.

Those of you who have not tried them should give the CFO Craffiti a try
It's not a Tat but it's a damn good smoke for $2.
They also have a line that's not listed on thier site called "Magus" $50. for 25
And that is one Good potent smoke!
They don't come wet and young like the #7's

I'm betting there's a very strong correlation between how much you smoke and how much your "everyday" cigars cost.

I can't imagine smoking 4+ a day at $5+ per cigar. That's $7300/year on cigars alone if you smoked four $5/cigar a day.

I'm at about 1 to 2/day and I cringe when I have to toss a $5/cigar unfinished.

Depends on the day and the time of year (smaller cigars in the winter). Mostly $5+ in general.

I like those as well, but only after I "slowly" get past the first inch. I find if I try to rush it, I often ruin the remainder.

I pay about a buck each. I look for the steals and lowball bids on cbid. For example, in the last 3 weeks I paid a buck or less at cbid for fivers of

La Aurora Leoninos robusto
Fonseca Vintage Selection robusto
Punch London Club
Troya #36 perfecto
TdS robusto
Nestor Reserve lonsdale

Yeah, none of them are top shelf, but they are good everyday smokes.

I also nabbed a sixer sampler of Gran Habano robustos for $7, an eighter of Sol Cubano Cuban Cabs for $15, and a 3-pk deal that included 1 Pepin Black robusto + 1 Man-O-War Churchill + 1 Camacho 1962 churchill for $5 (cigar.com catalog offer).

Add to that the freebies from local B&Ms, and I am what you would call a damn cheep bastage. That's OK cuz I smoke between 1 and 3 per day on a tight budget.

If I was paying retail singles price it would definitely be in the 4-7 range but most of my everyday sticks are bought by the box. Box math gets them down to 3-4 bucks a pop.

I'm still waiting to hear what the $0.78 cigar is. :D

Me...under 2 bucks. Took me a while to find a decent "spread" of cigars at that price, but they are out there. Smoked quite a few duds along the way.

At the other end, I set my per stick limit at $8, CCs or NCs. As a workin' stiff with a lot of bills, it would be financially irresponsible of me at this time to pay more than $8 for something I am going to light on fire. Truth be told, I haven't found a cigar yet that I thought was worth $20.

I strive for the $2-$5 cigar but here is my dilemna. I average that pricing but I also use the Devil Site so I actually am purchasing more cigars weekly so the volume is more proportionate to actual cost per cigar. Wish I could average lower volume but with prices lower on that site I fiind myself buying more cigars. My friends who talked me into this site should be hung!!

Mail order folks can get a decent smoke for around two bucks... it is all about what you are willing to spend... for me I like cheap beers, Miller Lite... Some turn their nose up... Same is true for cigars, but I would rather smoke a great cigar then drink high end beers...

Don't have a "everyday" cigar but what I do smoke, the variety, Davidoffs, 1926's and such push me far North of the $12+ range. Right now and not counting herfs perhaps 3 cigars a week with the occasional 4th....expensive yes but I'm an old fart so I don't give a damn.

That was a very good deal. I paid $112.00 for my last box of the P1 and I'm sorry to say they taste rather warehousey, kind of dusty/musty.
