Hello, I bought the Z-Plus and it works fine, but when I put it in the zippo case the lid will not fit on it solid.

With the original Zippo insert, it stays on there good, you can't move it in any direction but upwards to open it.

With the Z-plus insert i can just wiggle the lid of the case to the left and right.

Anyone else has this problem or a solution?

I think it's a problem with my Zippo, because I hear no-one else about it.

Do you think Zippo will fix this, when I send my Zippo to them and the Z-plus insert?

I just think it's a problem with the opening mechanism on the case.

Zippo doesn't make the Z-plus so they won't repair it or warranty it.

Must be the body is damaged......double check and see if there are any dents.

Everything about a Zippo lighter has a lifetime warranty EXCEPT the hinge because there are so many trick ways of opening a Zippo, some of which kill the hinge over time. So, if it's a hinge issue on your zippo, you're probably out of luck.

As previously mentioned, Zippo doesn't make the Z-Plus, so you'd have to take that one up with whomever makes it.

Adam, I started collecting zippo's back in the late 70's while in the Navy and the only time I ever sent one back for repairs was because the hing loosened up and they have always repaired it. One of the things I've always liked about zippo windproofs was their warranty.

"The World Famous Zippo Guarantee"
Zippo Windproof Pocket Lighter
Any Zippo pocket lighter, when returned to our factory, will be put in first-class mechanical condition free of charge, for we have yet to charge a cent for the repair of a Zippo pocket lighter, regardless of age or condition. The finish, however, is not guaranteed.

Send your Zippo back with the original Zippo insert and they will take care of you!:tu

I humbly stand corrected.

Many years ago, I had simply taken the word of the operator of a B&M on the Zippo warranty and never bothered to verify it for myself.

Now, if I can ever find my old zippo with the bad hinge, I'll send it in.

Thanks.

I sent in an empty outer case years ago for repair and it came back with a new insert. Top notch warranty! :tu

Not all Zippos are the same size. Are you using a standard one?

Yup it's the one and only original.

Putting a small piece of paper under it does seem to help a little bit, but still not completely.

Meanwhile I have contacted the seller FineHine (from eBay) and he said that he could fix that, and if not he would send it to repair himself:)

I think my Zippo is in good hands because he sells like thousands a month and 100% feedback;)

Still don't like the 'misleading' description of the Z-Plus, it just doesn't fit every Zippo I guess.
