So as many smokers do, my preferences change. When I first started smoking cigars, I smoked almost exclusively robustos, as I learned how much I loved cigars, I wanted the biggest thing I could find. In the past 2-3 months I have been smoking almost nothing but Lanceros/Lonsdales, long/thin has been my thing.

Now, thanks to the great invention called "The Cigar Punch" I have started liking some larger ring gauges again, coming full circle and enjoying Robustos again (had a DIVINE La Traviata last night).

So the question is, what is your favorite size right now, and how often do you change your preferences.

EDIT: Didn't even put figurados/torpedos in here because they vary so greatly...

Started out enjoying churchills...defintely a robusto fan now for the past few months.

Robusto and torpedo are my preferred vitola's, but I don't look down on toro, churchill, lancero or corona, love those too ;)

In addition, how does the size ranges I listed look? I have been trying to "quantify" the average NC size ranges in my own mind, and I think that just about covers it... a few of them of course overlap (Toro and Robusto can be pretty damned close)

you're missing the torp in your poll

Torpedo Is My Favorite, Too; But Since It Wasn't listed As Such, I Voted My Second Choice, "Lancero".

I know Ferd, I edited above that due to the VAST size variance (there are torpedos (there are 4x40ish and 6x60ish, both called "Torpedo" or "Belicoso") I figured you could put whatever size you liked and mention that you like it with a pointy tip :-P...

I'm a lonsdale fan! Over the last couple years I've really downsized my ring guage preferance from churchill and robusto sizes to the lons. Coronas aren't bad either, but I like the smoking duration the lonsdale provides assuming I have the time.

Same here, except that I don't often have the time for a lonsdale, so I chose corona/cg.

I used to like a bigger ring, 50 or better. I tend to reach for smaller stuff now, corona gordas and pc's. I feel like I get more flavor out of the smaller rg smokes, especially around a 46.
I'm not crazy about real skinny cigars, but I'm starting to warm up to them.

I like the smaller stuff just becasue of time constraints. Given a couple hours free I'll reach for a big dog!

If it's DPG's favorite, it's mine too...Robusto!

Right now I always seem to reach for either a Corona or Belicoso. It kind of takes me back how many new lines out there are not rolling Corona vitola's when just a few short years ago it was the most popular size. Oh well, times/taste change I guess.

42 to 52 or so... With the bigger RGs I feel like I'm smoking a soda can, and with the skinnier lanceros I'm always worried I'll snap them in half. I generally buy toros and robustos, but torps, belis, perfectos, and other figurados are fine.

Typically reach for corona sizes and smaller. Flavors seem to pop out a bit more.

If heading out to the golf course, then the larger rg and lengths come out.

I like lanceros but coronas are better based upon my free time... :tu

I'm a torpedo/belicoso kinda guy generally, but lately I've been moving into robustos. I enjoy a nice torpedo when I know I have the time to kick back and enjoy it. Robustos seem to fit my average "smoke time" these days.

(edit: I'm your "other" guy...I went with other for the torp/beli you didn't put up.)

I prefer the PC size. I like the fact it isn't a big commintment of time. If it is that good I will just smoke a second one.

Lonsdale/Lancero make the cut every time. I just seem to consistently get the best flavors out of them, regardless of marca.

My 3 favs (in no particular order) Lancero, Robusto, and Lonsdale. PC's are a close 4th

When I first started I really preferred the larger RG, now give me a Lancero or PC any day of the week!!!:dr

During the '90's cigar craze, I was smoking coronas exclusively, so when I "came back", I naturally grabbed coronas, but lately, I've discovered robustos and toros. They match the amount of time I have to smoke, and have sort of an "old school" look; I think aesthetics are important if one considers a cigar as an accessory as well as a smoke. I'll likely try torpedos in the near future, as well. :ss

I smoke mostly PCs and lanceros. I also really enjoy lonsdales. I find anything larger than a robusto an uncomortable smoke.

I like pretty much everything except for the ridiculously huge ring gauges (Nub for example, though I do enjoy the torpedo Nub Maduro)

For cc's I like my vote, Corona's. For nc's Robusto, Toro & Lancero's. Nothing 60rg.

It was a hard choice between lancero and lonsdale, but at the moment lancero wins out. Third choice would be corona gorda, followed by the robusto.

:tpd: I noticed myself moving in the lonsdale direction as well. I had been smoking alot of PC's and Corona Gordas, but the lonsdale seems to have such a wide variety of flavor profiles. :2

Well, I've always preferred something in the corona range, but lately I've been on more of a robusto kick. Pretty soon I'll gravitate back toward the smaller sizes, but right now I'm enjoying the bigger boys.

I really enjoy Corona Gordas, they are probably my #1. A nice combination of length and ring gauge. I also really enjoy lonsdales, hermosos #4, and churchills (and robustos and belicosos and... :)). The ring gauge is probably the biggest determining factor for me as I tend to enjoy 44-48 RG the most.

WTH...I like 'em all! :ss

Yep! Dem's the ones I like, you listed most of them. You forgot torpedos and perfectos though.

I might be strange, but I used to like just one size - robustos. Now, depending on mood, time, etc... my list is much changed. I may grab a Churchill or it might be a PC, or, it might be something else.

Glad I could be of assistance.

Peace of the Lord be with you.

Does cigar size have anything to do with taste; or is it just a personal preference. I was just wondering since I was looking at a cigar yesterday and the different sizes had different user ratings.

The smaller the ring gauge, generally means you get a more intense flavor, or more flavor than you would with a larger ring gauge.

Lancero and Lonsdales, it has been that way for awhile. I started with robustos being my favs.

Although I do smoke alot of petite coronas right now due to time constraints.

Usually Robusto size for me as well. I do vary it though, I'll buy anything from 4-6 inches, by 48-66 RG. Mostly depends on the cigar though.

For me CG is king. Next would be corona, then PC. I do love some lonsdales though. On the weekends, when I have time, I like a beli. About the only vitola I don't really care for is a robusto. It just doesn't feel right to me.

Im a bit of a size whore, I like 'em all. I typically wont pick up anything larger than toro size due to time constraints. I do, however, have a few boxes of DCs for the golf course, or herfs when I have a couple hours I can dedicate to a cigar.

I like torpedoes/belicoso the most but will smoke all sizes, I also like robustos.
