So, I was outside cleaning up after the dog. As per usual, I have to remove a bunch of spider webs before venturing too far into the foliage. Normally, I only see very small spiders, but this time, I found one of these

The writeup I found says that they can get to 1", but just the bulbous back lobe on this one was 1" long and maybe 1/2" thick. Largest spider I've ever seen in my backyard. At least is wasn't a black widow, which we sometimes get as well.
