View Full Version : So I've talked the girlfriend into smoking with me

My girlfriend has recently been introduced to smoking cigars (by me of course). She likes the CAO Flavors line, and Kahlua cigars. However, she wants to try something stronger. Any suggestions on something light yet powerful that could help her ease her way into cigars (/onto the slope)? I don't know much about this end of the cigar spectrum.

Thanks!

Sam

If you mean non flavored, try a Macanudo Cafe. Those are like smoking air.

In the flavored/infused world, some of the Drew Estates cigars can be considered "strong"--look around in the Acid lines.

I've hooked at least one person into trying some new cigars with the Java smokes. Honestly, not a bad smoke even if a bit on the flavored side...

AF Hemingway, Taboo Twist corona and Ashton Cabinets would be on my short list for her to try. These were some of my wife's favorites along with the Illusione HL which is her current favorite.

Maybe some Davidoff's(NC) if you feel like spoiling her.

Stronger? Give her a LFD DL and start the video camera. :r

Perdomo Champagne :)

My GF's first cigar was a Perdomo Lot 23 Conny, she rather enjoyed it until she woke up with that taste in her mouth

you're a bad bad man.

When I was making the transition from flavor to "real cigars" (so say my BOTLs ;) ), I enjoyed Taboo Sumatras, Oliva G Cameroons, and AVO Cameroons.

The important thing to remember is just to keep trying new things.

I second Taboo Twist. Mild - medium, a slightly citrus finish for the first 2/3 and she'll think they look cute.

Thanks for the advice. I'll ease her in on the Javas and maybe an Acid or two. Then I'll move onto some of the others mentioned. This will finally give me a really good reason to place an order with Taboo.

Wish my wife would at least try a cigar...... Maybe then those boxes showing up from UPS every other week would be welcomed instead of questioned. lol

If you want to star her with a "real" cigar, my vote is for 1999 rocky patel vintage. Unflavored, but she'll think shes smoking cream.:tu

I have not had one but the Drew Estates Tabak Especial is a "bridge" cigar. Coffee infused Nicaraguan tobacco. Comes in Connie and maduro wrapper. :2

My fiance and I just share cigars. I smoke pretty strong stuff but she just takes puffs at a time as she gets used to it. She really likes the more flavorful stuff now, her current fave being the DPG CC. So don't think just of what to give her to smoke on her own, but share one with her.
