I haven't seen any Miami Dolphins fans here at CA, so I thought I'd start this thread. They're coming off of a bye week with two consecutive wins (their only two wins). Hopefully new starting QB Chad Henne will keep the streak and conference hopes alive.
So.......
Where are the Dolphins fans at???

Hmm.......

10/25 - New Orleans - Very good defense - Explosive offense.
Add to the mix a new QB.

Not looking good.

Yeah I know. Plus their defense wont exactly shutdown Brees. I'm not unrealistic, just a diehard fan. I stuck with them through the 1-15 season.

As a South Floridian for the past nearly 14 years, I have grown to root for them.
I am still a die hard Giants fan but see no evil in rooting for a local AFC team.
I think Parcell will do wonders with them and it is already showing last year and this one, in spite of three losses in their first three games.
He will build them up defensively which will help their offense.
They already have an awesome tandem in Williams and Brown. Certainly fun to watch.

I agree, I think Parcells is really turning them around. I do hope Henne keeps his momentum going though. I'd like to see him take the starting job once Pennington is healthy.

Fins fan here. Lived in Miami from 89 to 2007. Currently live near Orlando, and I hate the fact that I'm stuck watching the Suck-a-neers every week.

Don't worry he's got the job... Pennington can't stay healthy. Even when he is healthy he doesn't have a very strong arm. There's no way Henne will be benched when Pennington comes back. I honestly don't think Pennington will be in the league much longer which is a shame because he was a great leader, a good QB, and a very smart player.

Sorry about this coming weekend, fellers. Lemme apologize in advance for the whippin' the Saints
are going to administer. It is cetainly nothing personal. We just would like to ONE YEAR advance to
the Super Bowl. We have been as far as the NFC Championship game, but have always come up short.

If you want to read some really funny chit then go the the Miami Herald website and red some of the trash the dolfans are spewing.

Found this quote online from the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel:

"Rookie cornerback Sean Smith said the key would be limiting long pass plays for the league's top offense.

"If you can eliminate that and force them to play a game they're not really used to playing, that's good for us," Smith said. "The biggest thing this week is to finish.""

What game is he talking about? Jai-Alai? For the record, the Saints have a running game this year that compliments their passing game.

One thing I have noticed from living down here in So Fl is the fans are the biggest homer's alive!!! I listen to 560QAM quite a bit and if you listen to them and read the Sun-Sentinal you would think the Fins are the next Super Bowl champs. :r

The only thing they love to talk about more than the Fins is a Jets loss..

I have been a Fins fan since the mid '70s. There were some awesome years in there and some horrible years. When I moved to Jacksonville and they got the Jags I never could really like them because we no longer got the Fins game on Sundays. Ticked me off royally!!!

The Dolphins first drive got near field goal range, but no cigar.
Speaking of which, time to light one up.

24-3 in the first half.
Who is this "Dolphins" team?
Where did they come from?
Talk about either a fantastic come back to be by N.O. or one massive dismantling of a great team.

What a great team.
Held on in spite of a dismal start and huge deficit.
Came back as championship teams do.
What a great team indeed!!!

It was a good game. I think the Saints just got into the Dolphins head in the second half. That and they figured how to minimize the damage from the wildcat.

On a side note, LSU played Auburn last night and the announcers kept talking about how well Auburn runs the wildcat. LSU stopped the wildcat last night too.

Bienvenidos! Saludos y felicidades. Yes, the Saints are an acquired taste. You have to either have toiled through
decades of crap and enoy the now, or you can enjoy the now with no previous internal damage. Either way, you get
some good entertainment for your money.

Will still be a diehard Giants fan but one can't help but tip a hat off to this Saints team this year. I really think they are the ones to beat in the NFC. The rest of their schedule is pretty good, other than N.E., which I think they will dismantle. Next week with Atlanta should be a shootout!

I'm expecting another good game with Atlanta. They do seem to play New Orleans tough most games and they are coming off of two straight losses. That makes them hungry and dangerous.

On the other hand, I don't think the Atlanta defense is anywhere as good as the Dolphins and while the Falcon has a good offense, I don't think it will be able to handle a shootout with the Saints.

I would expect the Dolphins to bounce back next week.

No bigger Dolphins fan on this board than myself. Tough loss yesterday, we had a opportunity to win the game. Next week we go on the road and play the stinkin Jets. For all the headaches Saints fans have endured, it looks like they are the real deal this year, as they have no weakness. What a fun offense to watch and they were not even clicking on offense yesterday and still scored 34 points on offense.

I listen to 560 daily and sometimes 790. Jet fans were talking Super Bowl more than Miami fans were and Mark Sanchez was the 2nd coming of Joe Namath. That was three weeks ago.

I have noticed this about Jet fans, if they go 2-14 and those two wins are aganist the Dolphins, than it's been a good year. lol

Just in case some Dolphin Fans don't realize it, "Stone Hands" Ginn was drafted by Miami with the ninth pick in the first round. In taking Ginn, the Dolphin's front office passed on Brady Quinn who dropped to the 22nd pick. Of course, he hasn't done anything in Cleveland but you will never know what might have been.

Anyway, I did some checking on some of the other players drafted in 2007. Do any of you recognize these names?

Patrick Willis - 49ers
Marshawn Lynch - bills
Darrell Revis - Jets
Michael Griffin - Titans
Jon Bason - Panthers

They are all first round picks drafted after Ginn who have already made it to the Pro Bowl.

Some other notable players drafted after Ginn:

Zak DeOssie - Giants - 4th round, Pro Bowler
LeRon McClain - Ravens - 4th round, Pro Bowler

Dwayne Bowe - KC 1st round
Brandon Meriweather - Pats 1st round
Robert Meachen - Saints - 1st round
Tony Gonzales - Colts - 1st round

Pierre Thomas - Saints - signed as an undrafted free agent.

Makes you sort of glad the Dolphins front office knows how to evaluate talent.

First game we've won in 3 weeks (I guess that includes the bye). It was a bit sloppy, not to mention a botched 2-point conversion, but we pulled through. I'm havin' a celebration smoke. Who's with me?

Another Miami fan here. The 1st string offense looked bad last night , yet I'm not concerned, they will come around with time. For me the biggest question mark is the defense.
Can Randy Starks play noseguard in the 3-4 defense?
Can Cameron Wake be more than a situational pass rusher?
Can Chris Cleamons be the starting FS?

Can't wait till the season kicks off

Yeah, but again, I think the receiving corps is way more capable than last year, AND Brandon Marshall wasn't on the field.

Halftime update, after a shaky start. The Dolphins made an offensive breakthough. Three touchdowns; 2 by Henne to Fasano, one by Pennington to Brown. The offensive definitely looks impressive.

Bads: Our special teams defense is bad. Real bad. Also Vontae Davis has a chest injury.

Vontae Davis SUCKS. His nickname should be "toast," because he's always getting burned. Keep him on IR, we're better off without him.

Offense looked alot better last night which I thought they would. Henne looked real good and Marshall showed how much he helps the offense even by not catching the football. He opens up the whole offense for everyone else like Bess and Fasano. Kickoff team looks bad. They allowed Jacksonville to start at their own 40 yard line three times. Secondary looks average. But, again it's still preseason. Mike Nolan Miami's Defensive Cordinator is keeping his defense real basic right now and has not called one blitz this preseason.
