View Full Version : What Was The Last Cigar You Couldn't Finish?

Mine was an El Mejor Emerald.

Beautiful looking cigar, but was like smoking nothing but straw laced with a bit of tobacco flavor.

It wasn't mild, it was just outright bland.

How about you guys? In the similar vein of Paragon's thread, what was the last cigar you lit up but couldn't stand to finish?

Smoked a Party Corona until the girlfriend started yapping about how my Oakland A's suck. Buzz kill right there.

I have a Havana Nightclub in my humi that MedicCook gave me as a joke. I haven't dared light it, let alone finish it.

Camacho 1962. Twice. I love Camacho's, and this one has all the good construction, nice draw, but.. there's a nasty, bitter, green weedy taste to these. I'm leaving them sit for long time.

Maybe use them for lovely parting gifts..

Haven't had one lately, I am surprised about the emerald though. I usually smoke strong cigars and have had a few of the emeralds and even though they are not strong, I liked them.

I remember having to toss a black banded Camacho that I was smoking in a jacuzzi. I felt it for the next day.

A 98 punch corona, just :pu.

I bought one box early this year and it turned out to be fantastic. So I jumped on two more boxes all the same box codes and I was excited. I started smoking out of the 2nd box this spring and it was horrible, it was tight and tasted like yard clippings. I thought I would try one out of the third box and got the same thing. These weren't kept at any kind of ideal humidity or temp. So over a month I tried a few things and ended up putting them all in a big cab and burying them. A couple nights ago I thought I would pull one out and try it. It wasn't as bad as the first one but still not good. I purged the smoke a lot and it helped slightly.

My first ever H Upmann Sir Winston (from 2003) a couple nights ago. I think the roller seriously rolled cement in the majority of the cigar... I couldn't even squeeze it. Really, it was bad... and tragic... I've heard such glowing reviews of the winnies and I was super excited for it.

Oh well... crappily rolled cigars happen.

Oh well... crappily rolled cigars happen.

Which brings up an interesting point of order - by "cigar you couldn't finish" do you mean because it was physically impossible, as above i.e. plugged like a dowel, or because you just couldn't stomach it anymore?

I had one like that a few weeks ago. tasted like rolled up newspaper when it did finally draw.

bought an AVO robusto at the liquor store while driving out of town a few weeks ago. There was seriously no flavor. I could barely tell that I was even smoking a cigar! I stuck with it for 15 minutes or so, since I was bored driving and had nothing else to do. but jeez, what a let down.

I had one of these a long time ago that I really liked but I believe that one was an AVO XO and this one was the classic line. :td

Thompson's "Don Lugo." It came in my first cigar purchase, 5 each of 5 house cigars + free humidor for <$50.

I know, I know. I didn't know THEN. But I know.

(Their Corojo from that pack was nice, if mild.)

But holy God did that stick suck.

Had a Partagas black so incredibly plugged that I actually resorted to taking a 1/4 inch drill bit to it. Drilled a hole straight through the center and the damn thing still wouldn't smoke.

A grape blunt that sonic_mike gave me at one of the BABOTL herfs.

I got about one third to half way though it and would have finished it, but everyone was getting ready to kick my ass if I didn't put it out.

La Vieja Haciendo. A buddy and I split a CI cheep smoke sampler. Took about 6 puffs and tossed it in the grass.

The last one was a Camacho triple maduro robusto. I wanted to nub this little guy but I was getting a bit queasy. It was a really great cigar!

The last stinker I smoked was a Camacho 1962 perfecto. The worst cigar I've smoked in 20 years. I tossed it half way through. I kept thinking, "everyone seems to like this cigar, I'll keep smoking it until I find the good part". Never happened:(

I haven't smoked one that I needed to pitch in a while. The last one I did was a cremosa, actually :D Thanks to Sville Kid who hooked me up, I did a review on Club Stogie, which is now puff. I could probably find it, but I don't know if I want to re live that horror.

Bucanero torp. Not sure which blend it was, but I have a sneaking suspicion it wouldn't have mattered.

Before that it was a Vegas Cubanas Delicias. On the third gag I pitched it.

Anybody ever heard of a Santana? Somebody bombed me with a few of these dog rockets several years back, and I tried to smoke one once. After 3 puffs I was done. "Yuck" is not the word for it - more like :pu

just had the last one last night, I tried to smoke a 5 Vegas Series A that had a terrible draw and when I actually got it to draw, it hardly made any smoke :( I dont understand it, the first layer of these (archetype (toro)) smoked so well, both the flavor and draw were excellent. The second layer was a different story, almost all of them had draw problems and the flavor was off.

5 Vegas Relic. It has been a long time since I've chucked a cigar that has started out badly. I typically try to fight through it and see if it changes and usually it has.
The 5 Vegas Relic was so awful I couldn't continue. I will never put another to my lips again.
