OK. I'm lookin to see if anyone wants to do a little wager. Say a fiver (premies/cc's). I take Detroit. Any Milsquakians looking to take me on?

Good luck, Scott. As a Yankee fan, I just hope the game goes 38 innings. :r

If your taking more than one I'll take that bet. No way that rookie is going to win today. reply to me before the game starts and its on.

Bah. The Tigers are in a tailspin. Plus the Twins fans will be on Cabrera like white on rice. Of course he's been sucking lately anyhow, even without the domestic abuse of his wife.

I call it 8 - 3 Twins.

All the Tigers have to do is play one good game. Minnesota ain't exactly tore up the league lately either. ;)

On any given day...that's why they still play the game.

I think we'll just have to see. I think he's had enough time, since his wife kicked his ass, to get his head back together. You know this ain't the first time this has happened.

The twinkies will win. I think they are mad enough about last years results.

You got that right. If they'd been playing 6 weeks ago like they have been recently, they wouldn't be playing this game today.

Good run for sure, Michael, but at this point, you're only as good as your last game. I am hoping today will be just that for the Twins. :)

Porcello's 5 Ks already - good and bad. How many pitches can he throw before his bullpen blows it?

The Poet
10-06-2009, 04:26 PM
Make that 6 Ks. End of 4, 3-1 still.

I think the booze played a bigger part in his struggle than his ass-beating, but who knows. I'm sure I could hit a 95 mile an hour fastball with a .08 bac :r

The Poet
10-06-2009, 04:41 PM
After 5 full, still 3-1. Porcello at 74 pitches, Baker at 79. Whoever wins, this means to me fewer pitches left for my Yankees.

The Poet
10-06-2009, 04:48 PM
Detroit's getting antsy now. Baker gets the heart of their order on 5 pitches. :r

BlackDog

Porcello is sure pitching well.

The Poet

Then he walks the tying run on. Too bad I gotta go now - this is getting interesting.

Great game for both teams, and super exciting for the fans. Doesn't get any better than that. Too bad someone had to lose, both teams gave a great performance.

Pretty cool quote from Inge:

"Pitch to pitch, inning to inning, out to out, at bat to at bat, the best game I’ve ever played in."

BigCat

It was a phenomenal game, no doubt. Both teams responded to what seemed at the time to be game changing plays and kept fighting. The Tigers lost because they couldn't do what they couldn't do all season long - knock in runners in scoring position. Its a damn shame, but the Twins are a pretty good club.

I don't think Yankee fans have much to worry about. They're 7-0 against the Twins this season.

Well, it's an all new season. Besides, we are worried about Carl Pavano - we KNOW he is well-rested. :r
