I smoke on the porch, use a coffee can. When its butt-full I toss it, start another. But when I smoked indoors I had a nice white RyJ and a black Cuesta Rey. Nice thread.:)

thanks. i had a bunch of grout left over after doing a ceramic tile floor at my mothers house. i tossed in a plastic bag as i was cleaning up. as i went to clean out my truck i looked at it and thought.... this might turn out cool. it is much bigger than it looks in the picture. i think i am going to add a couple more rests to it.

In the barn I have a big Padron one similar to FFFer's RP one. In the truck I have one of those cheap 5 Vegas two stirrup ones from CI. It sits perfectly on the dashboard by the window.

There is no question why those onions grow so good in there. I bet they have a little nutty spice to them.

I have a small collection of ashtrays, most of which are freebies from Cigar events. Two were gifts, and one I inherited from my parents.

I wanted to post thumbnails, but I can't seem to get that to work...

This first one is a favorite. It's very small and I take it everywhere -- just in case I need an ashtray and one is not available. It was an anniversary present from my wife:
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=365&pictureid=2575

This one was a present from my family; Tommy Bahamma is a fave:
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=365&pictureid=2950

This one came from CI as a free gift with a purchase; a nice big ashtray good for a herf:
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=365&pictureid=2573

This one if from a Nub cigar event (where Sam gave me my first Cain 550 Maduro):
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=365&pictureid=2925

This next one I "borrowed" from my parents over 20 (probably closer to 30) years ago when I moved out:
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=365&pictureid=2572

I have two more, but I am limited to five images, and they are not that special -- you can see them in my photo gallery on CA under "My Ashtray Collection"

I look forward to acquiring more!

Royal Flush Ashtray

A must-have for poker players!

The Royal Flush Ashtray is pretty awesome. Actually, it’s a work of art! Displayed is the best hand in poker, a royal flush, laid out and forming 4 cigar rests. Behind them sits colorful stacks of chips, forming even more places to rest a cigar. Made of heavy porcelain, the Royal Flush Ashtray measures 10" x 8" x 2.75" and will easily fit on any desk or table.

The first one is Lalique, from the '30s, and called "Cuba":

Same as above, but you can see the whole thing in this shot:

Waterford:

Another Lalique; this one has a matching table lighter that's pretty cool, too:

I own a few, but never use them.
I have been doing 90% of my smoking at the Summer Home this year, which means using the earthen carpet ofthe woods we're in.

Won them as prizes at various raffles too.

Someday, I'll be able to set up a man-land right proper.

It really was a good time putting it together. Harder task than you would imagine as you decide on what bands make the piece more colorful and represent your favs also. Depending on the size of the table, it could be a few weekends worth of work. Hopefully while enjoying a few nice stogies! :ss

This is an ashtray I bribed a waiter for in Tretters New York Bar in Prague, CZ. http://www.worldsbestbars.com/public/venue_listing.jsp?categoryId=39&currentVenueId=1521 Tretters is apparently the best cocktail bar in Europe...and yes I bribed for a menu too. I have the ingredients but not the ratios sadly. Literally some of the most unique and best drinks I have ever had. The translation on the side of the ashtray is "Unique since 1492".

The story approaches ridiculous as to the bribing. My buddy and I are smoking cuban montys and I ask the guy if I can buy one of the trays. He seems confused as his english was limited but then figures it out and says no. We keep hanging out and drinking more for about 10 minutes and then the waiter rushes up to us with one wrapped in a plastic bag and says "you hide this!" and he stuffs it under our coats on the bench and then he whisks quickly away. Needless to say I tipped the guy like $30 on a $40 tab.

I like an ashtray with a story.

Oh and can someone tell me how I can just get the large image to show up instead of a thumbnail?

Open up a photobucket account and click on the picture. The last row
is the image for forums tab. Copy and past the code into the message
portion here and "Voila"! ;)You could also just put the photos in the CA photo gallery.

The problem with Photobucket is that the photos and accounts exipre and then people come along later and look at the thread and all they get is an icon telling us that the account or photo has expired. If the photo is in the CA gallery it will stay there until you delete it.

The first one is Lalique, from the '30s, and called "Cuba":

Wow! This is a great thread!
Can we turn this into a contest?
I'll supply the prizes if I can be the Judge! :)

Here's something new I designed . . . long story.
It's now in production and scheduled to release in May 2010:
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=5501&stc=1&d=1268201692
It's powder coated and will be available in Brown or Black.
The Stinky Logo is a sample to show what printing will look like.
Same price point as the original stainless steel model.
It holds the same amount as the original Stinky Cigar Ashtray!
Smaller diameter is only 7-inches with a taller bowl & base. . .
Total 6-inches tall with polished stainless steel stirrups.

How many winners should we have?
I'm thinking First Place. . . Second Place and a Boobie Prize!

Vote:
Send your nomination to Stinky@StinkyCigar.com

. . . but of course! :) After all . . . you started it! I'll send you a stirrup! (can you weld?) :D

Seriously though: I think you should start a new thread. I still worry about improperly promoting my line. Some cigar forums are REAL fricken annal about it. I'm just havin fun and don't want anyone to think I'm getting rich on the 'backs' of cigar enthusiasts! It's a part of my hobby . . . like a side job!

Anyway, if you really want to start a contest, let us see photos of your hand crafted "Cigar Ashtrays" and we'll vote on it. Be sure to create some contest rules and the deadline or end date.

Here are some things I'm working on:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
“Thank you” to everyone who took the time to enter the contest.

The obvious answer is:
"This new production of the Stinky Cigar Ashtray Herf Edition has 8-stirrups (cigar holders) instead of the original production that had 6-stirrups.”
:D That’s it.
It’s just that simple. . . :tu

We have some winners! And, you didn’t even have to get the answer right!
Each entry got a raffle ticket and I did a drawing for the winners. Prizes will go out today.

Winners will be posted on the new "Cigar Ashtray Contest" thread in the Contest Room. . . tomorrow. (I gotta go now)

Thanks bro!!! :wo
