Mine's more of a butt jar on a bucket than an ashtray.
Wow, Stinky, thanks bro!
My earlier post was just thanking you for the contest, I had no idea I was one of them until I went to the PO just now.
At least I think I won... The company name line on the address label has "Casa Dooley" on it. Box is addressed to me & the note inside has my name on it - LMK if this was in error and should be forwarded to Kevin.

Very Nice Pictures!!! Would you mind if I use them on my (web site) Photo Gallery? BTW: I'm always looking for good photos with the Stinky Cigar Ashtray in the shot. Occasionally people send me photos of themselves and ask that I post it in my online Photo Gallery. . . but I have to tell them NO because it's either poor quality photo, usually due to poor content or just bad photography. These are obviously good for the Stinky Cigar site. I'd also like to see some good quality photos with people enjoying cigars and a Stinky Cigar Ashtray in the shot too.
FWIW:
I'm still thinking about another contest. . . that was fun to send a little mini-bomb to y'all. :D
Do any of you remember my first 10 years on cigar forums? I used to sign all my posts with . . . I'm Stinky (Stinky@StinkyCigar.com)!

Thanks, I think it could have been better though - but for a quick shot with a cheap digital camera it's not bad. I'm just glad the ash held on that cigar long enough for the shot, that was one of most crumbly ashes I've seen in a long time, most of the ash from that cigar kept ending up on my shirt and the ground rather than in the ashtray.
Anyway, I don't have a problem with you using my shot, in fact, I'll email you a higher resolution version of that shot in a moment.
Congrats to all who won the stinky contest :tu :ss

It's the free ashtray they gave out at cigar fest last year, but it's just deep enough for me and it's small, so perfect for my little table outside. I plan on buying a new version stinky in black when they come out though! They look awesome!

Wow, sweet looking. Did you cast that, or was it milled from a billet? I ask because I have a milling machine myself and have made a few exceedingly ugly ashtrays on it, nothing approaching this level though.

Contact Stinky, he's a member here, and he'll send you a new one, no cost.
From Stinky:
When I first started producing the Stinky Cigar Ashtray, I didn't realize the manufacture would change the specifications and "cheapen" the solder joint on the stirrups. . . long story.
My opinion: They should not break off! . . . even if you drop it! So, I decided to offer an extended warranty. (I need to get that posted on my web site!) The extended warranty will require a $10.50 fee to cover shipping & handling. . . but, I wave that fee for nice guys . . . like the inmates here!

We all have pet peeves. . . although I have quite a few, one of mine is when people go to public forums with their problems without ever contacting the company they bought from (or the manufacture, distributor, etc.) So, I gotta ask: Why didn't you (at the least) call or send me an e-mail?
Oh well. . . water under the bridge now. Unfortunately you got one of the defective units in that first container load. Sorry! This is why we implemented the extended warranty. Send it back and include the stirrups (cigar holders) and I will repair it and add an extra stirrup to complet the job.

Here is one of my ashtrays thats been in the family for years, I remember seeing it when I was just a little bastard running around grandmas, and I been using it since I started smoking cigs as a young teen and now I use it for my cigars.

first of all, it is a pic of my friggin ashtray. was not meant to "go public with my problem", so no need for the attitude it seems i have invoked. hope i am wrong.
second of all, i bought it from cigarbid. i dont know you, or your company, or that you had an email or a phone number to call. it was never a big deal, so i never researched your company.
third, i have had it for quite some time. i wouldnt expect a company to repair something with this much age, but thanks for the offer.
my apologies for posting a pic of my "stinky". was not meant to set off anyones pet peeves. feel free to delete the pic mods.

Thank you to everybody for your great comments.
It's about a 10" diameter
I used 2 x1/4" oak strips glued together and then cut on a 5 degree cut and then glued into a circle. I used tilebond glue and a strap clamp. After sanding it down I rub a little red stain into it and then wiped almost all of it off, just to give it some character. I then applied about 15 coats of spray lacquer to it.
The bottom was just a piece of 1/4 inch wood cut into a circle and then I glued all the bands on. After letting it dry completely I applied about 15-20 coats of lacquer, with a light sanding in between. The bottom is nailed onto the body and then I applied a few more coats of lacquer to try to seal up the seem.
It was a fun project, I think I would do some thing things differently next time.
It's funny I was involved in the iron works industry for many years and it is very different from woodworking. A little welding, banging with a hammer and grinding can make everything look good. In woodworking everything needs to be a lot more exact and you need a lot more patience. Which I have a very limited amount of.
Nice job, Mario! It's a beauty!

I like the design and layout of that... wide/long slot to give enough area for the cigar to rest, decreasing risk of dropping... and a large capacity bowl for an ashtray that size.
