I started with pipes this week last year. It was been quite a learning experience, but I'm so happy I started. Cigars are nice, but I really love pipe smoking and all that goes with it (ok maybe not the oropharyngeal cancer risks). Thanks to all of those who have helped, or to those who have learned with me and shared.

here's to another great year of piping :pi

ps, can't wait for it to cool down, nothing like a nice pipe on a cool fall evening

You got THAT right brother! :tu

Sitting outside by a campfire enjoying the brisk evening air while smoking a pipe is just this side of heaven! :pi

I'm glad you have enjoyed it... I haven't smoked my pipe for years but have been thinking about finding it and giving it a whirl.

Congrats. I feel the same way when it comes to pipes vs. cigars.

I still enjoy the occasional cigar but for me it's been primarily pipes for the past few years. At an average of $0.30 per hour-long smoke it sure is easier on the pocketbook than cigars ever were.

Casually piping since March 2008 out this way, and picking-up speed in 2009. It should be full-speed ahead come 2010 with the pipe. I've been enjoying the pipe more and more this year.

I hear you Mike. It appears with most cigars costing in the area of $80 to $160 a box of 20 or 25, one would think that you could purchase some premium quality blends for that amount of money right?:tu

Yes,

Congrats on the anniversary! Ever since suffering unemployment in August I have switched over to mainly pipes. The cost tends to be lower, and my own ignorance of pipes, and pipe tobacco compelled me to take a closer look. Anyway, I will say that I have learned alot just over the past 2 months, and I empathize with you on your trek through the world of fine tobacco. May you have many more!:pi
