You just got a big promotion at work...
When the wife tells you your first is on the way...

...You reach in the humidor and pull out that special smoke. Maybe you don't have it yet but know that the day Johnny graduates from college you have that particular cigar in mind. What is your go to? What cigar stands above the rest to be saved for that Special Occasion. Not a cigar for any NORMAL day ending in "Y".

Share your Special Occasion cigar choice. Or, share one that has already been enjoyed for the reason of celebration or success. It's a Special Occasion! What cigar will you smoke?

I promised myself to light the Tat RC233 that I have had in my humi for quite some time as soon as I reach the weight (160 kilo) that my doctor said that I should reach before he would preform the gastric bypass surgery. And I bet ya, it will be before the end of october. Then I will think of the cigar I will smoke once I get to the 150 kilo target.

I have a Padron 80th set aside for such a special occasion, like my wife and i buying our first house together. we are just now moved in with our 1 year old, so i have decided that the 80th will be the first smoke i have at the new house, trying to weasel into having a housewarming herf, but the wifey isn't as open to it as i am, ecspecially with baby, but i have a big garage, and a heater to sit around.

If Amy tells me our first is on the way I'm reaching into the toolbox instead of the humidor and hitting myself hard in the goobers with a mallet.

Any other special occasion? Padron 45th or 64 Anny, or any stick I've deemed to be 'rare' or 'special'. This usually involves sticks given to me by people that are either CC or one that I only have one of.

Waking up is a special occasion for me :)
I relish everything in my humidor, not that they are that special,I just love my cigars.

But to specifically answer your query,I would probably grab as big a cigar as I have on hand.

For me, I would probably try and track down a Padron 45th. I ordered the CRA 10 cigar sampler, so that I would have a celebratory smoke for passing each IT certification test I will be taking. There are 10 total tests to take before I am fully certified, and 10 cigars to smoke. Coincidence? I think not!

Great outlook from a great BOTL, but I can't agree I have a few cigars pit away for certain special occasions. I have 2 05 sig6s waiting for my brother and me for his bachelor party next summer

This past weekend I went up to Chicago for the 85th birthday of my Wife's Great Aunt.
There were over 100 people at the event, I knew maybe 30% of them.

It seemed like it was going to be a special occasion; so I packed and smoked a Havana Soul Hirsch Y Garcia special edition blend. It was rolled by Pepin at an event for Cigar King in 2006. (as I recall I believe the wrapper used was different than the regular Havana Soul, the blend was not significantly changed).

It was quite an enjoyable cigar; but what made the experience better was having guys slowly migrate to the fire pit to join me. I had brought along a mix of aged cigars in my 15 count Otter box; it was full at around 10 and by Midnight was empty. :ss

A friend gave the wife and I a box of cuban Partagas for celebration of us both finishing our Master's degrees.

Sdly, I don't have any ideas for an upcoming celebration: bout to break an annual goal at work, given to me essentially to make me fail. I'm gonna finish a few months early, which means time to overachieve and stick it to the man :)

Davidoff 3000's. I have a couple Mojitos and other less amazing stuff in my "special" humidor (not much, mind you... it's not overflowing by any stretch), but if it's truly a special occasion, I'm going for a Davi 3k. :tu

(I'd better only ever have 2 special occasions, though...)

I was gifted a Partagas 150...which, after a little research, turned out to be a 'special' stick. Pretty rough looking stick!

Can anyone give me some info on it? I tried to search the forum and the term '150' was too short to be included so I got a bunch of Partagas CC threads.

A special edition Partagas that came out in 1995 and uses a cameroon wrapper from 1977.

Everyday is a special occasion to me. Life's too short to smoke cigars that are just "ok".

WOW! CC's seem to dominate the Special Occasion smokes. One of my all time favorites is the AVO 80th. It was the first cigar I smoked on a Special Occasion. I try and keep it that way as I have a box but don't know how long I will be able to keep getting them.

I save a few special aged Habanos for leaving or returning from a deployment, but I generally just smoke to enjoy it. I figure live life to the fullest, because you never know. I save certain things for appropriate occasions like the Johnny-O Culebra I plan on bringing to whatever the next herf I attend is.

I have never had the chance to smoke a BBMF, so in the event of a promotion and the idea of having off spring, they would warrant such a cigar.

If I want to be more realistic, I think any Padron Anni. or an Opus would be great.

This has me wondering what I should pick up for when I graduate this December. I have been in school for almost 6 years and I think I deserve something EXTRA special for when I am done. Probably grab a Cohiba SigIV, Partagas Lusitania, or a Padron 45th maddy. Although, it is getting frickin cold here now, so It may be difficult to spend that much time outside. Backwoods, maybe? :r

Opus X Lancero!!!

I will be going to a larger smoke shop in Vancouver, so maybe they will have some opus X there. Unfortunately I won't be able to make an order and pick it up across the border till after the new year. This would significantly reduce the cost of these cigars as they are probably about $65-$75 up here? I have been wanting to try them for awhile now to see what the hype is about.
