Had the opportunity to smoke a Padron Anniversary Series 1964.

This is without a doubt the best cigar I've had to date.

Has anyone here had one of these?

My new friend Kevin spotted me smoking a Nub and not enjoying it and ended up giving me one of these. It was a bromance.

T. rex glows in the dark! Also, I'd like to note that it seems totally worth the $40 price tag. :D

Have you had an Oliva Master Blends or Rocky Patel Old World Reserve....they've also got that smooth, flavorful taste with tons of smoke.:dr

Not a problem! If I had any I'd send you a nice little Padron Sampler, however being in college doesn't pair well with my love of Padron Serie 1926's. (they tend to be a bit pricey).

Have you tried any of their "Thousand" Line?

Negative, I'm as new to this as they come. I can also relate to the monetary issue being a law student myself ;)

Is that the maduro in the picture? Those are my favorite. The 1926's are good too but I don't smoke them as often due to the price. One thing I noticed from smoking the anniversary cigars is they make me appreciate the regular line even more. The taste is very similar but the regular line is just more mild.

It's funny that you mention that b/c I just had one of these and an MB3 and thought they both had the same velvety, lush type of wrapper and very similar taste profile. I was wondering if anyone else thought the same or if I was crazy. I thought these Padron's were awesome. After the comments on the 1926 being even better I now have a new quest, one natural and one maduro of the 1926, for testing and comparison purposes only of course, lol!:tu

No? Hm. Well, that's what they're selling for where we got it. But then, they give us freebies, so I think things pretty well even out.

The '26's are very good, but if you're on a budget, I would stick to the '64's. Lots of people prefer them regardless of price.

Agreed. That is robbery, imo. They sell for less than half that around these parts. Time to go internet shopping. :D

I also agree that you should go for the x000 line. Very good cigars. I really like the Londres and the 6000 torpedo in both natural and maduro. Nica baccy kicks major arse!

I put the 26's and 64's as one of the few cigars worth 10 bucks or more and the Padron Londres maduros as one of the steals under 4 bucks.

:tpd: oh man, the maduro Londres are the best! They're the only size I buy from the regular line anymore, and definitely the closest taste-wise to the 64 & 26's

George, I just bought a box of 26 nat #35's.
I have never smoked a Padron nat. The maduros are so good, I figured it's be a letdown.
I learned a very valuable lesson.
What an incredible cigar. :tu
I know you love the 35's. If you have never tried a #35 natural, please let me introduce you.

I agree, Scott! I usually like the maduros better than the Nats. The Padron 26 is different, however. What a fantastic smoke, indeed. Everytime I smoke one, I have to say, "Wow" out loud!:tu

Just a few weeks into cigars and you are already enjoying the Padron 64's.

I predict a rapid slide down the darkside, counselor. :tu

Hahaha to be very honest with my income that 64 is a special events cigar. But damn if I don't keep looking longingly at it when I open the humidor.
