So I just got an email that a flight I was on has been rescheduled. It is not a direct flight and is part of international travel. They changed the flight by 5 hrs... FIVE HOURS! How does this happen? I ca understand up to an hour change, but 5? The email literally reads: New Schedule... thanks you for understanding! I dont believe I do understand. The problem is, to this one connecting flight is a nightmare as it is part of 6 flights I will be taking to get to and from Portland to South Africa. Airlines have zero respect for anyone. Rant over. Thanks for listening.

That happens to me every time I fly. The Scranton airport routes 90% of it's flights through Philly. Every Philly flight has at least an hour and a half delay. Between lost luggage and flight delays, I haven't had a flawless flight in over 10 years.

I'm right there with you about hating the airlines! If AT ALL possible, the missus and I drive. Alas, over the water, that is not an option! I think I'd raise Hell with somebody about the change!

No point in raising hell it just raises your own blood pressure, those A-holes are trained to ignore you and not give a s... whether you are happy or not. They are something else! :c

It turns out it is the last leg, the problem is, after flying for 25 hours, a 9 hrs stopover (instead of a 4 hrs one) is not something I am looking forward too. Also, I was getting in at 9pm, not I am getting in 2am... I generally dont like asking people to pick me up at 2am so will have to also now wait for a cab, etc, etc. Whats worse... I shelled out for Business class just to get this flight (getting from the east coast to Portland is pretty dam hard) and all economy seats were booked. It might not get anything done but I do plan on calling and at least ruining someone elses day!

Flying commercial now is like riding a bus 30 years ago. I avoid it if at all possible.

I remember those days! And, you're sadly correct!

Don't even get me started. Unfortunately, it is sometimes a necessary evil.

I hear ya,,,I had an international flight where I picked up my cruise in Rome. Lucky for me I always book those kinds of flights where I get a couple of days rest before,,,just because of screw ups like this. I used to like flying and now it's like a chinese fire drill where everyone is running around trying get on their flights while going thru every maze and checkpoint charley to get on a flight. It's getting worse with all the fees they want to charge you now just for bringing a friggin bag on the plane. Charges for baggage,,charges for drinks,,,for sandwich,,for ear phones,,,for taking a piss,,,will it ever stop?

It may sound tacky but I insist on being compensated when I flight is delayed more than x number of hours or rescheduled without my knowledge. They usually give me 300 to 700 dollars credit/gift check that I can use for my next flight.
