Looking on GCBC and it looks like one of the distributors is AWOL, so the demand shifts to the other distros, and they close out pretty quickly. There isn't much South American green on there and I wondered if anyone had a link to a Brazilian that is nice and affordable. I am still kicking myself for not splitting an entire bag of the Brazil Morenina Formosa with a couple guys.

yeah.....
Well, I think that the coop pricing has spoiled me a little... and add to that, uh.. I am....er.... frugal? They seem a bit proud of their beans, considering.
I would be willing to bet that some of the green suppliers get some of their beans from GCBC and mark them up. Which is... against the user agreements.
I'm perhaps a bit too cynical for many, though.

Same coffee? Differing perspectives? or apples to oranges?

Yes some might, not Sweet Maria's. Tom travels and deals with farms direct and buys what he cups and passes on what might not be up to snuff this year. You will notice his bean description all have the farm they came from.

So in other words you are cheap, :r;s.

Did you read the last offering for Brazillian that closed on the 17th? He stated that he may be getting more.

I just got 10# of BraSantos from a Norfolk, VA, roaster for $3.50-lb. It isn't what I'd call landmark. You can have it (or part) plus frt if'n you want.

Burman (http://www.burmancoffee.com/coffeelist/) has a couple at under $5/lb. I have never tried weither of those particular beans but the few greens I have gotten from them in the past have always seemed fresh and/or well cared for.

I would sure hope so Norman. If one didn't get what they paid for then one might feel pretty stupid for having paid for it....or something:rolleyes:
