She changed the lives of millions of people with special needs and it takes less than a minute at a Special Olympics event to realize the stark impact that it has on the lives of the athletes and their families cheering them on. :tu

In the past I was, to my discredit, very unaware of the great things being done by Special Olympics. Now that I am the parent of a special needs son, I look forward to particpating as a volunteer to help out wherever needed, and hope my son will someday too be able to participate.

RIP Eunice Kennedy Shriver. You made a difference to thousands upon thousands of kids. Who could ask for a better way to be remembered?

Thats awesome. I would encourage anyone who has an opportunity to volunteer for a weekend/day/hour. It is by far one of the most rewarding volunteering experiences I ever had. It makes such a big difference for so many people. :tu
