Is online poker legal? Does anyone know for certain (either first hand playing or reading legislation articles)?

I used to play on Party Poker a lot (back in 05-06), but have since stopped playing due to lack of free time. I'd like to get back in it, but I have heard that it is a lot more illegal/monitored now.

I play on Absolute and PokerStars and have had no problems.

All of these companies (Full Tilt, BoDog, Absolute, etc) are based outside the U.S., so that's how they get away with it. I've been playing for years with no problem.

In a word. Maybe. Welcome to US Jurisprudence. :D

This is an article I had sent to me shortly after the 60 Minutes episode a while back.

I read over that.... it raised more questions than it answered.

Were you expecting a clear answer about US Law? :r

Honestly bro if I could say yes or no I really would.
