I know a lot of inmates use Twitter.com and in case you're trying to use it now, they are currently under attack by a DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) and fighting to keep the site up. If you're having problems, that's why.

I'm 25 and totally agree, so it has nothing to do with age :)

If you read a Tweet, does that make you a Twit?

It's just like any other social networking tool. It's a good way to keep up with things your friends are doing and keep your friends up to date about what you're doing. It's also a good way to share news or just BS.

Some people prefer this method of communication over your method with 2 tin cans and a piece of string.

It's the 21st century, old dog. I don't expect you to be ready for it. :D

Technically, no.

Depending on how fast you reply to a tweet, it could be like an IM.

So I just post a message about what I'm doing at the time?

Like hey, I'm on CA trying to get Darrell to tell me the value of TWITTER.

:confused:

Al, I'm with you. Although fairly technically savvy, I am not a twit, and I don't tweet. Aversion to Twitter does not classify one as a luddite.

Goin to pee.

How are you goin to pee if you are at your desk. You should type "I am going to leave the computer for a second to pee." :tu

Darrell, respectfully bro, I don't give a rat's a$$ what my friends are all doing at any given moment, and I probably don't want them to know what I'm doing.

Quick everyone load Twitter and help the DDOS out. :D

Honestly Twitter just takes the point out of seeing a friend and BS'ing over Beers and Cigars. Or maybe I'm just old school.

Can we start a tweet thread?
If:
Tweet = Statement
then
Twhat = question?
what is past tense?

A tiny part of me sees the "value", but the rest of me kicks its butt and locks it in the closet. Someone recently referred to herself as a "Twidow". Her hubby follows/posts to Twitter so obsessively. There are those who go too far and I don't feel the need to be that connected. Best of love to those of you who do.
