Pee in the Shower (For the Environment)

(CBS) New TV ads are encouraging Brazilians to save water - by urinating in the shower.

Brazilian environmental group SOS Mata Atlantica says the campaign, running on several television stations, uses humor to persuade people to reduce flushes.

The group says if a household avoids one flush a day, it can save up to 4,380 liters (1,157 gallons) of water annually.

SOS spokeswoman Adriana Kfouri said Tuesday that the ad is "a way to be playful about a serious subject."

The spot features cartoon drawings of people from all walks of life - a trapeze artist, a basketball player, even an alien - urinating in the shower.

Narrated by children's voices, the ad ends with: "Pee in the shower! Save the Atlantic rainforest!"

I just did it to help cure athletes foot....never thought about it saving the rainforest....I feel better about that now.

Interesting read. Makes sense. I also hear urin can cure athlete's foot.

How to Use Urine to Cure Fungus

Using urine to cure athlete's foot fungus was nationally proclaimed by Madonna on the David Letterman show in the 1990s. Human urine is sterile. Fungus can be treated by sterilizing it. Although it is not widely used in America, human urine has been used in medicine for thousands of years. World War II prisoners of war used urine as a disinfectant.


Step 1Curing fungus requires a combination of treatment. Fungus thrives in stagnant, damp areas, so cleaning up the area where the fungus thrives will begin the eradication process. Washing the area with urine is an effective disinfecting agent.

Step 2Bathe an area, such as the feet, in urine. The urine bath allows a concentrated sterilizing effect. This is especially useful for athlete's foot fungus. The bathing of the infected area should be done in a tub or on a towel to avoid staining the treatment area.

Step 3Collecting urine should be done fresh daily. Use of the patient's own urine for urine therapy is recommended. The human body filters everything that passes through the urinary system. Traditional medicine's view of urine is that the body manufacturers this substance as a medicine and it should be used as such.

Step 4Use the treatment two or three times a day.

Step 5Find a urine therapy practitioner, although this can be difficult in America. The field of homeopathic medicine is the most likely place to find a medical professional who could offer advice and treatment.

Saw a guy the other day that apparently does not shower and pees in his pants. He's homeless, jobless so does not contribute to global warming, a true environmentalist! :D

I pee in the sink when doing dishes, too. I must be saving close to 2000 gallons per year.

Then there's the pooping in the flower bed...

No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

I used to think peeing in the shower was disgusting. Then my girlfriend at the time did it while we were showering. I was like WTF?! Ever since, I have been peeing in the shower...at least when I'm the only one in there. lol

I used to think peeing in the shower was disgusting. Then my girlfriend at the time did it while we were showering. I was like WTF?! Ever since, I have been peeing in the shower...at least when I'm the only one in there. lol

yea dude. I was a little disturbed by it. We aren't dating now. There are several other reasons for it though.
