I am moving out of home at the moment and noticed I had a big pile of beautiful empty cigar boxes just sitting in the corner.

Cigar boxes are often beautiful things. So what do you do with yours once it is not being used for storing cigars?

I have one Oliva MB1 box that I use for storing small items like a nailcutter, pencils etc on my coffee table. All other boxes go to my dad, he is a D.I.Y. handyman and uses the boxes to store screws, nails etc.

If I ever get my cigar room I plan on using some for wall art and maybe make a coffee table top (where the glass would go) out of the lids.

My sister turns them into purses and gives them out as gifts. But I bet if she put them up on E-bay she could make some nice money on them.

My wife gets first pick. I keep a few & give the rest away.

That seems like a great idea... Wish I had a workshop. I really miss projects...

Mine are mostly used for storing cigar bands. I've got boxes and boxes of them. My son has several that he puts stuff in, baseball cards, money, etc. I also have a lot of empty ones that are just all over the place. I really need to get that under control. :)

I save my CAO boxes especially. Gonna put them on some kind of display whenever I get the bar done.

Multiple choice.... A little bit of C and D..... most just sit there so I chose D.

Most just sit there , waiting for a need . Some have become pencil boxes for my girls at school , some have cigar stuff in them , some have woodworking tools in them . One has cigar bands in it . My kids have a couple with their stuff in them . Someday I'll come up with a great idea for them , that coffee table idea has triggered some ideas . :ss

yeah, I have some lying around but I guess I end up giving most of them away to people. Otherwise, I would have a lot more lying around.

I wish I had half the creativity you have to do something like that. Very cool design. :tu

Combo of C & D. I've had one box for almost 15 years that I've used to store stubs from ticket concerts, sporting events and movies. Kinda cool to dig thru there every several years and see where I've been. I use some boxes to store cigar bands. Others just sit there. I can't bring myself to throw them away.

A combination of Give them away, Store other items in them and Nothing - they just sit there (stacked around the room). Additionally, I reuse them in my Vinotemp to store other cigars that I purchased in bundles, fivers or singles.

I user tupperdors, so I store all my cigars in cigar boxes inside my bins. Since I don't purchase a lot of full-boxes, I do like to store my cigars in the "real" boxes if I can or at least something close.

Also, I've found that although at first I liked Rocky Patel boxes and others like that which look really cool, now that storage space is more of an issue, I find that the square or rectangular boxes fit together much nicer (Tetris, baby!).

In fact, I need a few empties. I'm always looking for:

Torano Tribute (church)
Padilla Miami (church)
Padilla 1932 (church)
Illusione 4/2g
Cubao lancero
...and most Tatuaje and DPG type boxes (thin, square/rectangle, fit together nicely!)

I have a tower of power - some empty, some with stuff in 'em. I don't buy boxes, unless in a split, so I pretty much have some left over from when I refurbished the inside of this...

If they are wood, cedar especially, they get used in the coolidor or VinoTemp!!! I store other cigars in them... by size!!!!:tu

many of them display great craftsmanship and it would be a shame to throw them away.
I keep them in hopes of doing something great with them some day. But I hardly have room to store my tools for now, let alone start a project.
I might take the cedar out of them before i threw them away though, that could be put to so many other great uses.

We recently had our yearly community garage sale and I sold a ton of boxes that had just been sitting around. Have used the proceeds to buy cigars for the troops.

Cedar boxes with sliding lid tops I keep around, dress boxes I either give away to friends or toss.

I have several "recycled" in my 2 coolerdors that store loose cigars. I often use other boxes to store some of my fly tying gear. Moths don't like cedar, so it helps preserve my feathers and furs from damage.

I store other things in them, like cigars. They come in very handy in coolerdors.

They get other items stored in them. My wife prefers the cigar boxes to expensive jewelry boxes(more money for me to spend on smokes) and my kids keep crayons and pencils in them. There is a fellow at one of the B&M's that I frequent that makes guitar/uke's out of them. They look cool as hell too.

My wife and daughter lay claim to the ones they like. If there are any left, they sit on the shelf untill I find a nned for one.
