Went and played with my brother this past weekend and I had totally forgotten how much fun it was.

We did 27 holes and smoked a nice Opus X each while doing it.

I play disc golf. Haven't played since last year, but get out every so often. My home course is Prompton Dam, but I've played Sedgely Woods as well. Great course.

I usually drive with a Valkyrie, but have a ton of discs. Too many to list.

Played 36 holes today. I also picked up a Champion Firebird distance driver and I'm really digging it for overhand shots. I threw my best round today throwing the firebird overhand for pretty much everything but putts. I wound up shooting a 58, 7 under par on my home course.

Played a ton way back in college, but it wasn't regulation: just my three buddies, all of us with 185g Ultimate discs, making our way around campus choosing targets. It was a blast. I play on regulation courses about once a year with my son when we vacation in Myrtle Beach. I can't get accustomed to throwing golf discs, though--they just don't fly like regular Frisbees.

We have a really nice course at my work. I enjoyed playing however the large majority of the people who play at this course smoke the MJ and are a constant thorn in my side chasing them out after hours and making them smash their pieces.

I started last Fall * I know what a prime time to start* And continued this spring and will do it for as long as possible, I really enjoy it, and I guess I am pretty good with my limited experience. I'll post some pic's of my discs shortly!!

- I am a very critical player, I think to much and drill my self for every slip. I have found my sidearm can get me there, while my back hand.. is well.. sucks horse c*cks!

Austin, MN -my home town, has one of the best courses in Minnesota, Todd Park. If anyone is in the area, or hell if anyone wants to play anywhere in MN let me know, I am down!!!!!

I'd say YEAH, I play, but who cares. I am where I am and there is NO ONE around me,
at least that's what it looks like herf-wise, lol. I play at a few courses around here in
Shelby Forest, nice courses, and I am absolutely aces skill-wise, but that's cause I
always threw normal for accuracy and side-arm for distance. So I have all the moves,
lol. I need to play before it gets hot. No need to say what discs I own since I own no
discs, my playing partner has a few mixed discs.

Never tried the Magnets but they seem pretty popular! I have a few putters but I mainly throw and Innova XD and an MVP Ion. They XD is fairly beat up (as putters should be!) and has a nice lower profile- I use it for approaches and longer putts as it glides well. The Ion I like for short drives and normal putting, and it is great in the wind.

I play nearly every day. I used to play ball golf until I hurt my back in an auto accident, and now it hurts it too bad. Disc golf is a great "low-impact" sport for me that allows many of the same benefits as regular golf.

In fact, I have a tournament coming up in 6 hours. :banger

I have been out a few times in the last few weeks. I need to deepen my disc collection because I have lost my putters and midranges from bad shots and lack of skills.

Putting with drivers is not recommended.

I have a local-ish guy that sells lots of used discs for 5 bucks, time to give him a visit or hit the 'bay.

I have no backhand skill or I would use putters for 100 ft+ drives
Basically everything I do consists of a side-arm drive- and putting. If I am out of putting range I am hurting real bad :r

I'm pretty lucky too. I live in a rural western North Carolina county with four courses, 1 public that is pretty decent and 3 private courses that are excellent... better yet one of the private layouts is mine.:tu

01-14-2013, 04:08 PM
No ****. Ya gotta start checking around. Ask nicely and discretely about home/private courses in your area. As a fellow local course ownwer says, " Its a little bit of love in someonesback yard." Size and quality will vary just as it does on public courses, but in general private courses are more fun and more challenging. One of our local private courses is on land the guy lives on and rents. He couln't afford to outfit a course with baskets so friends pitched in and "loaned" him 18 baskets to be used on the "temp" course and go back to the donater if/when the course is closed. This course isnamed BorrowedTime.:) My course is Ramcat Ridge. Come see us if your ever in the area.

I've been known to throw a disc or two in my time...

I only have 1 shot down so far and that is my tomahawk... being left handed I can't get a feel for side arm... I do all my putting frisbee style...

My discs are a mix up of river re-sales and whatever was cheap at the outdoors shop in town... I have some more firm and some more pliable plastics... 2 putters, 3 intermediates, 3 drivers... all banged up and scratched but they throw ok... more or less...

I play at Western's campus course, Davidson College's course when I am back home, and another private course on the land of a very cool guy by the name of Mr. Bracket (Bracket's Bluff (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/reviews.php?id=3263&mode=rev)

As I mentioned before I am not all that great at it... but for me its more about getting outdoors, smoking a cigar, maybe having a beer, hanging out with friends and throwing stuff... :lr

Yeah I never heard of this, but it makes perfect sense. Just never ran into it growing up in Jersey. But nothing compares to coming over here to PA and everyone asking me if I wanted to play "corn hole" , which turned out not to be as invasive as the name implies. But I'll save that for another hijack.

These grounds like Twins Cities look gorgeous. Hopefully you are allowed to puff it up over there. .

The thing about private courses and here are, there are so many nice public courses every where. don't get me wrong I would def. want to play one of those course even if was private, but there's so many other options that I would never have thought to seek them out. 27 hole course @ McGiver park on the Clackamas River, 18 hole @ timber park in incesticada thats probably my favorite. Theres so many that I haven't even been to yet. Disc golf is big in OR.

Been years,I built a course for Durham,NC,and was pro of the two in that town.At one time,I had played every course in NC.

Back then we used the Super Puppy,Rubber Putter, and a new disc from Innova, the Aero Eagle. Then came the Stingray,Roc, P-38,and now I do not know how many discs are out there.

Gonna be hard to find a cheap backpackbag Rob. I've got a Revolution backpack that I love and there area buttload of backpack models out there. Just keep your eyes skinned for a used one and it'll turn up. Some folks change bags like they were shirts.
