Nice pic...being in Virginia (and originally from Pennsylvania) I haven't seen a "real deer" in years. In Virginia, they are like large dogs..LOL!!! Thanks for sharing.

Come fall they will be competing for the few Does on the property. They are not worried about humans. It's a Natural Gas Facility, they are not hunted there.

Some of them look young enough to be tasty, but where taking does is allowed, I'd prefer 1 to 3 year old doe or spike buck. You can't eat antlers, and I prefer higher quality tender meat to decorations over the fireplace. If you have to make hamburger out of it to make it edible, there's something wrong. Venison doesn't have to be like that; if you pick your targets same as you would pick a cow for slaughter, the meat is absolutely top quality. Delicious.

Seared venison medallions with blackberry, star anise and Cabernet Sauvignon reduction sauce anyone?

That is funny. The caribou do the same thing on the North Slope. The heard up there is huge because no one or thing hunts them there.

Still in velvet I see. Been hunting down in Calvert County quite a few times before work when I used to live down that way. They get huge from eating all that corn down there. Would love to have a permit to hunt the fenced in area surrounding the power plant down your way. :D

Thanks for the pictures. :tu

Well of course. Doesn't it always seem to work out that way? I believe secretly that deer can read. They know you can't hunt there.
