So I was so stoked to find that the B&M i bought these at before had a few more left, so I grabbed what was left of the box, and he sold me the box too. The box is the prettiest box I have seen a cigar come in yet, and the smoke matches it!

By far my favorite of the Master Blends. Love the box too.

I have smoked a few from my last grab, and I reviewed it somewhere (dont see it right now) It was phenomenal, especially considering the last run of these was at least 5 years ago. Very complex, very floral, medium bodied. I'll review the next one I smoke.

The 3 is a great smoke, no doubts, but they lost some of the complexity of the earlier models. The common thread is robust flavor and huge smoke volume. Definitely a good one for me!

I have a full box of MB1 torpedos/robustos, MB2 torpedos, and MB3 robustos as well as various singles of all of them. I've smoked 2 of the MB1 torps and thought they were pretty mild. The boxes are really nice, but HUGE.

New to this Cigar world but Oliva seems to be a really nice smoke for me...I have an Oliva O think it was a Toro and I loved it!!! I will have to try other Mild Oliva sticks to find the ones I really like.

actually the box comes with a small screwdriver to remove the hinges. the top of the box has a slot so it can be hung on the wall like a framed picture after removal. i have smoked through a few boxes of these so far, and have a couple tucked away.

actually, the lid is already prepared to be mounted to a wall, no joke! I have one of those boxes myself so I know. There is a small hole on the inside of the lid, so you can hang it over a screw and use it as a decorative picture on your wall. I'll try to make a pic of the back of the lid later today.

I had to PM Ian as to what the Master Blends are/were. Sounds like they are just as bad as the Oliva Bolds. More discontinued stuff to fall in love with and can't be found. :(

Anyone have a line on either these or the #2's? Sorry to Necro Bump a two-year-old thread, but these bad boys have become my white whale.

The MB1's were truly incredible. I remember smoking them right after they premiered at the RTDA show and calling Bert Gottfried the next day. I bought 5 boxes from Corona Cigar Company.
What a great product indeed.

I wish I'd been into the hobby at that point to follow your lead, JD. They've become my White Whale. Damn elusive mammal/cigar.

They've got more they just haven't released yet. I've heard it being discussed for 2+ years now as to exactly how/when they'll hit the market.

I haven't seen any in stores in some time. When I first started with Oliva in Jan. of 08 I came across a few shops that had them still. Since then, I haven't seen a single one in stores. We do have some that have been aging since they were originally rolled that we may actually release this year in some form. Keep an eye out.

Would love to have an opportunity to try one, I would be excited to see this re-release. I have tried the 3, and it was good but not greatmazing. I wasn't into cigars when the 1 was available.

Fernando,
The MB2 was a weird phenominon. The Robusto were absolutely amazing, and the other sizes were far less good. I went through minimum of 3 boxes from Corona and 3 from Abe. I cleared Abe's store out at the end of his last remaining MB2 Robusto boxes, full and open for my personal consumption.
BTW - I'm leaving your continent tomorrow in the AM, brother. I'm at hotel in Dusseldorf right now.
Best,
