The vet I use lost a Wallaby. Looks like an opportunity for some side cash. Who's with me?
Oh, and what caliber would be appropriate for a Wallaby? .270? .303 Brit? 8mm Mauser?
Just kidding, hope he doesn't turn up as roadkill.

Fairly small animals, 22 mag or one of the 22 centerfires like 22-250 should do the trick.:tu

The article says he is friendly with people, so he would probably let you get close enough to strangle him or maybe club him to death.
