I don't trust Fox a whole hell of a lot when it comes to news. If other carriers start picking up the story I might lend it some credibility.

The fox story references myfoxtampa.com and I don't see anything on their site.

Here's a link to the hoax story I referenced earlier.

I remember when the Ford hoax came out.
I also believe Tom Cruise was a hoax death victim as well.

The fox link added some details. It says he was on the flight that had some issues in Tampa yesterday. Maybe that caused some stress. RIP...

(nods apologetically to blugill):D

TV just ran a crawl with this story. Wow 4 in one week.

Don't apologize, wish it was bad information. I'd gladly be wrong on a forum and post bad information if he were alive, well, and doing his show.

Spirited TV pitchman Billy Mays was found dead at his Tampa home earlier this morning, police said.

Mays, 50, lent his trademark booming voice to infomercials for products like OxiClean and Orange Glo.

His wife, Deborah Mays, found him at their home Sunday morning, the Associated Press reported. Tampa police said there were no signs of a break in or foul play.

An autopsy will be done by Monday afternoon to determine the cause of death.

"Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days," Deborah Mays said in a statement. "Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times."

Mays, who got his start peddling products to passersby on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, has plugged Mighty Putty, the Ding King dent repair kit, and, most recently, the website ESPN360.com

"With every product you see me on TV with, I've turned down 100, 150 more," Mays told the News earlier this month, while in New York for a look alike contest. "I've been on TV for 11 years, and all I have is my good name."

"I compare myself to a big-league slugger, a quarterback, the doctor who delivers the baby," he said. "I'm not an inventor, but I'll take your product to the next level."

He mentioned getting hit on the head during the almost-crash. Maybe it was a concussion gone horribly wrong?

Another taken far too soon. I wonder if that head bump he got on the plane might have anything to do with it- kinda like that actress that recently passed after the ski accident.

On the other hand, the whereabouts of the Shamwow guy are unkown.......

They are reporting he actually had advamced heart disease. It was only a matter of time. No apparent head injury.

My thoughts exactly. May have had a subdural hematoma that was unnoticed. I heard on the news that he wasn't feeling well after the head injury. PLEASE get checked out by a physician after any head injury, inmates, but especially if you or your family member notices anything "Different" about you!

Very sad. On top of a very sad week for Hollywood already.

That said, since celebrities seem to always go in 3's, (Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson), it's not surprising that Billy Mays threw in an extra for free!

May they all rest in peace.

LoL. As much as I liked Billy Mays regular infomercials and his work on pitchmen, I also loved some of the spoofs/dubs/voiceovers of his work on youtube. Here are my three fav (nsfw):
