Was on the porch enjoying a cigar with Alina and the dogs when the pups hit the coffee table spilled Alina's water which some hit my keyboard. Not much really. Didn't think it was a big deal. Wiped if off, took out the battery and set the phone in front of a fan. Well that was Friday night and the keyboard still does not work. Looks like I'm S.O.L.
time to teach said puppy that BB != rubber ducky.
you've got a text message waiting from me ;)

That's what I found surprising. It really didn't get soaked at all. I bet it has gotten wetter in the rain than what happened.
Thankfully I have insurance on it but $50 still sucks!

Can you pick up voicemails from another phone?
If so ... you have one (and probably more) waiting.

Washed mine. It took a week of drying on the window sill in the sun before it would work again. By then I had a new one.
Maybe I should have put in the dryer too

Me too. :(
Monday night as my daughter was getting ready for her graduation practice - she had her purse with her Palm Treo, 2 month old Nikon camera and her iPod Touch sitting next to a sink with water in it.
Don't even have to guess what happens next - yep - into the dunk they go. Do the math on that and see if'n I'm happy -

If you are still under you 1 year warranty just go back to the store and have them replace it. Won't cost you anything.. The only way they deny you is if they can prove there is water damage but I doubt they can. Since it wasn't really submerged I doubt the water damage indicator will be tripped. Give it a try, it could save you 50 bucks and the insurance claim.

FYI...some phones have a little white strip that is under the battery that will turn red if wet.

Trust me I know! I've had a few water damaged phones that the indicator did not show water damage. If you don't fully submerge your phone in water there is a good chance that it won't change color.
I've worked in the cell phone industry briefly and companies really don't even notice if you white out that indicator. So say it starts out white and turns pink to indicate water damage. Put some white out on there and companies don't even notice. Be careful though if there are obvious signs of water damage (ie water under the screen, mold growing on the battery terminals you might not want to try it).
*disclaimer: I'm not advising anyone to commit fraud or take advantage of companies this way. I'm just saying it is done and consumers can get away with it a lot.
