I'm a visual type of a person!!! I had a fantastic pair today and I thought... We should have a place to post photos of our pairings!!!

Today I had a perfect pair: La Flor Dominicana Reserva Especial El Jocko Maduro and a Black Boss Porter (my first of this brand)!!!

The porter was off the hook as well as the cigar!!! The porter had an unsweetened licorice background with hints of coffee, and a smokey flavor!!! The cigar was all leather and coffee!!!

Fantastic idea for a thread! I find a nice smokey porter a great pairing for a cigar, as well as a full flavored stoudt (paired with a porter and/or a cigar ;)). I'll post some that I find especially pleasing. :tu

man SKYWALKER, I DO love a nice black broadleaf. Awesome shot.
But I have to give the prize to the Woodford Reserve and the Boli GM.
For the whiskey alone, never had the BGM. Got a few boxes, but I
can't just open one and smoke it. I have to wait. But how good is that
Woodford Reserve? MAN, I thought I had stopped at Wild Turkey-land
and settled in with my green card. But that WR gives any whiskey a run for it's money.

I found this cigar in the bottom of my humi, one of the last from a purchase about 2 years ago. Was surprisingly peppery for a Vintage 1990, with the same woody finish and the nice chocolate, bread and leather tastes that I love about these. The sweet, roasty stout was an excellent compliment.

I have Canadian Club 12 year with almost all cigars. I find it great as it is not to sweet and doesnt have that bite that Scotch has. It is smooth. The cigar is a Partagas Presidente

Twas good stuff, wasn't it Patrick? I enjoyed my Mimosa with an 80s Monte Especiale, which was already burning prior to the drink making, so I stuck with it. Still damn good, but the PL is supposed to be the perfect compliment. Another great nod to Drill!!!

The sweetness of this great cigar was complemented nicely by the bitterness of the IPA hops, and the malt brought out a smokey wood character that wasn't there before. :dr

Anyway, my whole reason for this post was to say that I might have to change my tag line to include "drink what you like and enjoy it."

Makes complete sense to me.

I've been getting into stouts a lot lately myself, and trying to find all kinds of good ones, and have been able to try several new ones, and found some that I really like. While I like these full bodies, full flavored beers, Miller Lite will work for me also. There's a time and place for each beer (and cigar). For example, I don't think you'd be smoking a Cohiba Sublime or something rare while moving the lawn or raking the leaves in the fall.

But ultimately...to each his own. Drink and smoke what you like. :D

Damn good pair right here! Boulevard Seeyoulater Dopplebock aged on cedar and a Kendall 7-20-4. I highly recommend this beer if you can find it. I think it would pair extreamly well with just about any cigar!!!

Travis (BeerAdvocate) hit me a week ago with home-brewed beer and Oliva cigars!!! I figured this could be a great combination... I was right!!!

Travis' Seven Field's Dry Hop IPA was a hopfest!!! The first few sips offered a strong hops punch and a pleasant bitterness!!! Then it smoothed out with good balance of citrus and some pine!!! Seven Fields IPA paired perfectly with the Oliva Connecticut Robusto!!! The sweetness from the cigar paired nicely with the citrus of the ale!!!

I spent the weekend drinking some heavy beers, I had to go light to not over power the smokes.

And yes, they had only a cigarette ashtray for one table of cigar smokers. :td They were not prepared for 15 cigar smokers in a room that was 9X25 ft. :ss
