Rocky Patels Olde World Reserve Maduro

Matt with Tex Cigars continues to impress me with his selection of sticks he sends. The latest of these is the Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve Maduro Toro which measures 6 1/2 x 52. It is a box pressed cigar. As you can see, it's a fine looking cigar.
The prelight draw is a little tight. It lights a little slow and shows signs of too much humidity, I'll need to check my humidifier. As expected the draw is tight. No spice at all from the start. A very pleasant slightly sweet coffee flavor. Very mild and smooth. The draw loosens up to a comfortable smoke after about an inch. Shortly there after the ash drops.
Moving into the midway point and it starts to develop a a little spice and becomes more medium in strength. Still very much a coffee flavor with some nutty hints as well. What a great cigar. Rocky Patel should be proud of this little gem.
Moving into the finish and the cigar still has that great coffee nutty flavor and is now joined by a nice peppery spice. It has one or two runs on the burn which I quickly even out with my lighter....no problem.
The Olde World Reserve Maduro has amazed me with the way it started off good but then opened up and turned into one of the best cigars that I have had the pleasure to smoke. If I were Paula Abdul I would give this cigar a standing-O! (Pardon my American Idol humor.)

If you have the oppurtunity, I would certainly recommed that you try this cigar.

great review and great stick, you should try the corojo version too, I rarely prefer corojo over maddies but this is one stick where I think the corojo rules.
