Well, that's kinda interesting. Wonder how many F - Bombs Chucky will let fly, on National TV?:D

Seems Kornheiser has a fear of flying, and that's why he's giving it up.

I never liked Kornheiser on MNF. :2

I just dislike Cornholer that much!

Believe it or not, Gruden is quite the decent sports personality..... despite his apparent lack of personality on the sideline.

I hear they're giving Gruden a cue card to cover half his face with during the booth shots.

I really like him on PTI but I'm glad to see him off of MNF.. His personality just does not fit on MNF.

I couldn't be happier to see Kornhieser gone. :wo I think Gruden will bring an interesting dynamic to the show.

TripleF...TRUE ENOUGH!!! He can't coach. So I guess he will take the fallback job, plan B...sportscaster for MNF.

You all really dont think he can coach? I always thought he had a ton of personality on the sideline and was a good coach...just going through some rough patches

A turnip would be an improvement over Kornheiser.

Gruden could coach, but everyone has their own professional choices. I am sure he didn't have a shortage of head coaches around the league offering him positions on their staff.

I am hesitant to say that a former coach will make a good commentator. It seems that there needs to be some seperation from the game before jumping back into calling games of people you used to coach against. Plus, wasn't Kornheiser the color-commentator? Not sure Gruden fits that role very well, because he certainly won't be play-by-play, but I am sure he will have good insights. I will withhold judgement until I see him cover a game I suppose. :tu

This is soooo true.

At least I can sit back and watch MNF now, Kornheiser was just so damn irritating.

They say cornholer chose to leave, I'm not sure how much I believe that. Either way, good riddance!

...With a team that Tony Dungy built. That team was going to win no matter who was coaching. Gruden lucked out that year, then he fell flat for the the rest of his coaching career.

That's true. It should be better as far as the "football" aspect goes:2. I can't stand comedians( or people who think they are) doing Sports. Kornhole would go waaaaay out there with some of his comments......so would Dennis Miller.

I think back on all of the folks who have called MNF through the years: Howard Cosell, Dandy Don, Tark, Gifford, Al Michaels, Madden. Kornhieser just never belonged. I was never a big fan of Cosell, but there have been some greats on that broadcast through the years. Though I think Gruden will be a good step up and will certainly bring an interesting perspective, I doubt he'll ever attain legendary status. I think in two years he'll get another gig, maybe in college, and be gone.

Patching into the stadium play by play announcer would be preferable to Kornhieser, but to be fair I think the same thing about a lot of sports broadcast teams. Too much talk, too much pedantic puffery.

Good fit for Chucky. Will only be for a year or two, but looking forward to him in the booth.

Wifey is also a huge Chucky fan and even though she watches on Sunday with me she usually finds something else to do on Monday, that is about to change.
