Thought question:

Let's say that I know everything (which is obviously not true or even close to true, so no PMs:D). You could ask me any question and I could tell you the truth. However, by doing so, I will destroy your previous thoughts regarding the answer and will cause you much stress. But you would know the truth. Would you still want to know the answer or live your life thinking what you want about the situation? Basically it boils down to, is ignorance truly bliss or will the truth set you free?

One must never fear the truth.

I think the best party of life is not knowing everything and finding things out for yourself...I would pass!

Two questions -

1. - Would everyone know you can do this?

2. - Would you also know sports scores/outcomes in advance?

Ignorance is bliss ;)

I stay out of 1492 threads for a reason.

Ignorance is only bliss to those who are no longer ignorant.

Maybe....depends on what you're willing to pay me to keep quiet:D

2. - Would you also know sports scores/outcomes in advance?

I'm not sure.....I'm not sure if foresight is part of this package.

In response to Thrak, the question is whatever you want it to be. I figured I wouldn't be able to nail down one question for everyone. So it could be the meaning of life, origin of life, what life could have been like with a different woman, if you should have bought that box of cigars, etc.

Aristotle said that general questions can only have general answers. "Truth" is seldom absolute as our perspective colors it as we need be.

So the scenario is: You know the truthful answer to any question I might ask you. I am supposed to decide if there is anything I would absolutely want to know. Right?

Yes, I would ask you something.

Here's my question: What's the one thing I need to know to live a happy life?

I would not want to know the truth. I am happier with my justifications most of the time.

Can we only ask one question?
If so, I guess I'm screwed for asking that.

Ignorance is IGNORANT. It has nothing to do with bliss.

One's perspective is NOT reality.

What you don't know CAN kill you.
