Was given this unique looking cigar last week and decided to smoke it. Very tasty and very unique looking. It actually looked like an Anejo Shark.

What Perdomo was this? The label is gold foil on black background.

I'm on the lookout for more if you can direct me :dr

It does say Estate Seleccion on the side.

Sounds like it may be the original Perdomo Estate Seleccion Prestigio in maduro, which was Torpedo shaped & 6.5 x 54 ring. I just checked my stock, but I don't have any in that size. They stopped making it about 2 years ago, if that's what it was.

Maybe these? There were a size called the Figurado. They were in the Cabinet series of Perdomo and it was a discontinued size about 1-3 years ago. Then Perdomo discontinued most of the cabinet series and re-blended a couple of them, the maduro comes to mind, calling the new line the 10th anniversary. They have a figurado in the new 10th anniversary line, but it isn't as square as the old ones.

Here are a couple of pics for you to compare of some ones I kept as a collectors items:

This second pic is the evolution of the size. The farthest right is the oldest that I believe is 2003 or older and the one in the middle is around 2006 and the farthest left is a 2007-2008. These dates are merely estimates as I am not completely certain about them.

Do those look right?

I will guess Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro. If you go to the Cigars International web site and click on big list of cigars, cigars are listed by brand and if you click on the brand, there is a picture of the cigars and bands. The above named cigar seems to have a band such as you are describing. Hope this helps Scott.:D

Too many gold on black bands. Geesh you think they'd come up with something original :D

Perdomo seems to have a bad habit of killing off the tasty stuff and giving us the "Golf"..... WTF?

Scott, go to CI's site and check out the Perdomo ESV'91. That might be the cigar.

Smokin5 hit it right on.I think that we are talking about the same cigar. Perdomo Estate Seleccion Vintage '91 Prestigio Maduro for $197.50 per box but you are probably right.

I don't think the original Estate Seleccions are the same as the ESV91's, but I can't say for sure because I've not had any of the ESV91's in maduro yet, just some of the Connecticuts (which were not used on any of the original Estate Seleccions). The maduros could be similar, don't know.

TripleF, you could try a Google search for the Prestigios & see if any place is still holding a box or 2 for sale, but be prepared to spend about $10/cigar. While they're good, they're not worth that much IMHO.
