"Rocky's hit parade includes the 95-rated Decade, the 92-rated Vintage and the 90-rated Sun Grown. Ocean Club is Rocky's newest creation and without question one of his absolute finest. "
"Without question"...?

Yippee another Rocky blend... I didn't see this one coming. :bh
Whats that make it now.... 5,000 crappy blends and 2 good ones. The more cigars this guy pimps out the more respect I lose for his entire line. I'm so over anything RP. :2

So far, the only RP that I like is the Sun Grown. Everything else is meh at best.

Jeez.... he is just like Gurkha. The only RP's I like right now are the Decade's and the Edge's.

decades, itc 10th and edge series are what i tend to smoke. i give his seasonals a chance when they come out, but i have only really liked the winter.

I really enjoy almost all his regular line. I have not had a private blend yet that is of the same caliber - I just had a Maduro, a Thompson blend.

I don't understand RP, he pumps out a new crappy blend every week, but the best cigar he ever made, The Edge Sumatra, he discontinues. I don't even try the new RP blends anymore.
wow, not much of a surprise haha. I enjoy the ITC 10th and the super fuerte maddy, both vintage, decade, and the edge, I am not a big fan of his seasonal blends however I didn't give them much of a chance
and yet another

I have to say that I just don't understand why cigar makers keep making new cigars... I really wish that they would blend only one line...

Not a whole lot different than what Pepin does. The key difference is that Pepin currently is the flavor of the month and in most folks' eyes can do no wrong. If the people complaining about Rocky are honest, they will concede this point.

You are 100 percent correct. With what you said. I have called them directly serveral times asking why would they discontinue such a great cigar and have been told each time that the closest cigar to the RP Edge Sumatra is the Rocky Patel Renaissance . And I agree it is close to the same but still not as good ..

Rocky is in the business to make money. If a cigar doesn't sell or they can't get the raw materials any longer it goes away. I don't understand why he shouldn't continue to create new blends to sell...

I think this every time I see people complain about RP blends...

I'll openly complain about Pepin and Rocky.. I think they are both going way overboard with these new blends, and producing BLAH cigars at best. Just my opinion though.

I've had several RP blends, the Decade takes the cake for me, but IMO they're overpriced.

Overpriced?? Possibly. Great Smoke? IMHO Most Definitely. :tu
Still looking for a Ocean Club. I'll be at Holt's in a few weeks. Guess I'll give it a try. :ss
I have nothing against RP at all, all of his smokes I have had have been at least decent, I think that with a new blend coming out every few months it seems like he cares less about the cigars and more about how many he can sell, it seems like its working so good for him.
NC version of Montecristo Open?
