i was woke up at 6:30am by the damn fire alarm. i live in a 9 story apt. building, and people (not just kids) like to pull the alarm all the time. i said screw it and went back to bed. my GF woke me up later cause she smelled smoke and heard more trucks coming (they usually send 5 or 6 no matter what). turns out, somebody just burnt some bacon.

Followed that up a few hours later with a Gurkha Grand Reserve given to me by a friend. It was pretty tastey but the wrapper decided to unravel, although it started when there was about 2 inches left so it wasn't a big issue :ss

SmokeyJoe and I were enjoying the last of our cigars last night as the storms started through our area around 2 p.m. Nothing bad here southeast of Fayetteville, but rough stuff about an hour north in a community in which I used to live. Looks like a couple of twisters (F2) ran up the I-95 corridor between Dunn and Wilson. We were fortunate---had over 100 people here at our camp/conference center.

Happy New Year everyone! Once I log off here I have to sit with some work for a few hours but at least I am home and it's crap I should have done yesterday but I decided to lay in bed with the puppies until 12:30 instead before I had to head off to a meeting. While the flavor really does not change, I just love the chocolate taste from the Oliva Serie G Maduro. The Special G size was about perfect, but for some reason the burn was not that great. Seemed to have some tunneling issues with parts of the wrapper. It really can't be too humid- I dry boxed it for about 1.5 days, and the Boli CE I smoked last night (same dry box time) burned perfectly. Must be something about that thick/dark wrapper.

well I took out a Boli PC and an Oliva Lancero last night. trying to decide between those two. My original intention was to light them up side by side so my buddy Joe could see what a "real Cuban" tastes like. :ss He doesn't smoke cigars so I figured he would benefit from tasting a NC along side the real deal.

Unfortunately the alcohol got the best of us and I went to bed without smoking either one. I think I remember saying something along the lines of "both are good cigars but one is more like Aqua Velva and the other is like Chanel no. 5"
