What's not to love about this issue? From Jay-Z on the cover to the Choice Brews (miro brew) article, from the 90 score for the Cruzado Marelas to the Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA ranked as a top micro brew!!!

I can't wait to get reading this one!!!:tu

Normally I don't love this magazine... I usually just like it for the... um... articles!!!:D

Sierra Nevada as the top micro? Yikes. It is decent stuff but there are a lot better IPAs out there.

Still sounds like an interesting read.

I guess why I got excited is the fact that the magazine usually seems hoity-toity and I usually can't relate to anything but the cigars!!!

This time the bar has been lowered for the likes of guys like me, who appreciate the cheaper things in life!!!;)

Personally I found the article on craft beers to be superficial. It didn't go as in depth as it could have and I agree with the previous post that the Sierra Nevada is a good IPA but not the best that I've ever had.

I only read the magazine for the cigar related stories and information and the personality profiles. Other than that the publication seems to be for those who make more money in a day than I do in a year.

So what does Jay Z smoke?

I believe when he was being interviewed he was smoking a Zino Platinum tubo, he also talked about Montecrisitos being his favorite cuban (or was it H. Upman - I have to re-read the article) and about Davidoffs really turning him onto cigars. He also mentioned that having a nice cigar is a like a gift to yourself.

All in all for a CA interview he talked more about cigars than the last couple I've read - Costner, the CA Mayor...

The reason I don't read the magazine anymore is because the last time I looked at an issue it took me past page 175 before there was a mention of cigars other then AD's. If I want the Robb Report I will buy that.

I purchased a copy of this edition as well.

My favorite was the guy who wrote in regarding CA Magazine reviewing resorts that were not cigar friendly. It made me smile and then laugh while reading it.

I like to smoke a nice Dunhill when I'm out wid my shorties sippin on some yack. :)

I like to read ca, they do cater to the "high end" crowd, not really my thing but they also support the cigar industry. Yes, they are also in it to make money, but what the heck...isn't everyone?

Will pick up a copy the next time I'm in the bookstore. :)

I've got nothing against CA. It keeps me entertained and I always enjoy the interviews. I think the main complaint is that there's not really much cigar content for a magazine named 'Cigar Aficionado' That, and the fact that their cigar ratings are a total joke. I mean seriously laughable.

If you wanted a strictly cigar mag, CA is pretty disappointing. If you wanted a food, wine, golf, cigars and travel mag, then cigar aficionado is just fine. :2

Let me guess the obvious. They likely sell a whole lot more magazines on interior decorating and their readers are likely asking why they carry a "stupid magazine" on cigars.

Agree!! As with anything you just have to take the ratings for what they are....opinions. Anyway, the lifestyle stuff in CA is always interesting as are most of their feature stories. And true they probably cater to that "high end" clientele but hell, if I could be one of those myself I probably would. :ss

I like to sit down with CA every once and a while, but only because my supscription is free. :tu Otherwise I wouldn't bother with the magazine. But in the last two editions it has taken a slant towards more middle class adventures. Sign of the times I guess.
