Well, the 2003 Explorer got a new tranny laast week to the tune of $2,700 (did some other repairs too). Frustrating thing is I had an extended warranty and the warranty company went belly up. So, I get to pay for the repairs AND the warranty. I have a headache.

2700 bucks is not bad for "a new tranny and other work" in an '03 explorer IMHO.
Hope it stays working for you.
