My first car. This isn't a pic of the car itself because it died many years ago at about 2 am on Shore Drive. (Read dark road with lots of drivers coming from the club/bar on it.) Transmission fell out. I paid a 1000 for it. It was awesome til you put the canvas top up then you would see all the cuts from people breaking into it.

Looked just like this though. Was the coolest car to have in H.S.

Here's my ride - a 2005 Honda Element - people either love it or hate it when they see it.

I had a 53 Willy's 3/4 ton 4x4 ex-army truck (Still had the olive drab paint and star). Called it Sgt. Slaughter. The bullet holes really added to it's character. It topped out around 45mph (even without the governor), but it would pull a house!

I had the Mercury Topaz, '89... What a P O S.
The car that was the most fun was a '72 Cuda, the one that was the weirdest was a Gremlin....

I've never had one, but I really like the Toyota FJ cruiser.

Sit in the back seat on the FJ. It feels like a bad seat on a plane the window and the seats don't line up. Mother-in-law has one. If you don't ever plan on having someone sit back there they are cool to drive.

My brother has a Fiero, which he further lowered... It's even odder to see my 6'3" father climb out of it after driving it.

Still driving it. Currently registered in NC.
Originally purchased by my Grandparents on June 19, 1972. For a whopping $2,727.22.(yes, I have the paperwork)
Did I mention their car payment was $87 a month for 24 months??
:D
I see lots of people around town driving the Lotus Exige. It's a pretty funky little head-turner, and damn fast from what I hear. http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/2077/sportexige4.jpg

Had this POS for several months before its appreciated demise. A kewl car if you put a fiberglass body and hell replace everything else while your at it. Few cars ever made worst than a Vega. This is 73 and is in much better shape than the one I had 30 years ago.

Mercedes SLK 55 AMG. 360 hp. Very nice smooth ride. I personally do not own one, but a family memeber does and it is a blast to drive. Not to odd of a car. But the AMG is a hard to find, not many around, at least not in Cininnati, Ohio.

My 1993 RX7-R1
Had it since June of 1992. 39000 miles on it now. Still have never driven a car that "felt" more elemental and connected to while driving. "Traded" with Jane, I could buy it if I quit smoking cigarettes. Best trade I ever made, even though it took a few years for me to actually hold up my end.

Wow, one of my favorite cars ever. That's one of the few cars that I would consider over/along with the S2k. If only it were reliable enough. I would put way more than 39000 miles on it.

LOTS of people??!! WTH do you live??!!
haha I know!
I live in Houston but these seem to be really popular around here.
My 1993 RX7-R1
I've always been intrigued by these because, as far as I know it's the only production car with a rotary style "wankel" engine.
also, the "fast and furious" kids seem to love them. One of my co-workers has an RX-7 that is INSANELY quick, not to mention good looking.

Take an MGB .. wash in hot water, shrink it down and voila, an MG Midget.
I had 2 .. loved them, despite their being complete and utter pieces of s***.

If you are in the market for a collector odd ball car for relatively short money, may I suggest the Chevy Cosworth Vega (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosworth_Vega)This will become one of the most sought after America muscle cars of the era. Cool looks, Cosworth Engine, Rare... Bet your house on this one! Not many mid-to-late 70's car have exploded on the aution scene yet, but they will...

I bought a junky Vega when I was in high school for $200, was on my way to the auction to sell it and the damn thing blew up.

My very first car was left to me by my Grandfather:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo326/alley00p/Cars/Lark60-sedan3.jpg
1960 Studebaker Lark, Beige with a L-6 Flathead engine & 3-on-the-Tree standard tranny. I drove this car for 2 years until I blew the engine.
My next purchase was sort of a "muscle car":
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo326/alley00p/Cars/787px-1965_Plymouth_Barracuda_Formu.jpg
1965 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S with an auto tranny. The 225 slant six engine was bored to 234 and had a 4 bbl Holley, headers and an exhaust dump. This car would run low 17's and regualrly beat V8's at the strip.
After the service I briefly had one of these:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo326/alley00p/Cars/746px-Bmw_isetta_arp.jpg
1957 BMW Isetta 300... I kept it for a while, but it never ran very well. It had a 298cc motorcycle engine, 4 spd tranny and chain drive connected between the gearbox and the rear axle. Popularly known as "bubble car" "egg mobile" and "coffin car", I never drove it much - it was unnerving not having anything in front of the door and steering wheel!
Pretty oddball cars, in my opinion.... :D
