I'm with ya, brother.
:hn I was using TurboTax tonight and my wife got excited when she saw the green "refund" amount for both fed & state. Until I hovered over the "Taxes Paid" pop-up window. Then we puked. :fl
Too late to smoke something tonight. Definitely will have to light one up tomorrow. In mourning.

Right now the number on the left (fed) is $4899 RED and the number on the right (state) is 1187 RED.
I still have to do some of the business expenses and some deductions so at this point I'm just shooting for EVEN, forget the already paid in number :bh

I used to have to send out a big check every year on my birthday to the IRS. Thank God I'm poor now. They send me one :D

Ha, I only owed $800 this year.
I don't think I've received a refund in almost a decade.

Happily, hotredsmama does these in January! So, no worries- we got a small refund, to boot.

I'm still in the red on both but it's down to manageable. First time my business has made lots of profit. I raised our payments to counter in June but didn't count on the self employment tax (SS) so its hurting.

Meh, I haven't seen a green number since I was 18.
This year I owed about $200 in, but that's because I try to balance my withholdings to always stay between 100-500 in the red. I don't like giving the gov an interest free loan for a year.

Well after all the squeezing, 2K MORE owed to the feds and $7 to the state :pu
Makes me sick,

Yeah, it's funny how people talk about the money they are getting back when what they should be looking at is how much they paid and thinking, "did I get my money's worth?"
That said, I pay an accountant to do mine. Best money I spend each year.
Oh, and thanks to all of you for the $8k I'm getting this year for buying house. Much appreciated. :p

Well, all you SOB's are welcome because you are getting my money. I could have funded everyone on this page so far, multiple times.
And to answer above, NO I did not get my money's worth!

Yeah, we did our taxes a few weeks ago, but we will file today. We ended up owning about $1,600. Taxes suck, but how else will the octomom and her football team survive?

I especially liked it when I was setup for an automatic withdrawal on the 15th and they already started the ACH processing on the 14th. At least I didn't loan them anything ahead of time.

Definitely not my favorite time of year. That's why I wait until the 15th to mail in my checks.
