Okay, I have seen military humidors before and they ain't much. Usually just some Chinese import with a cheap label on it. This one, which I recently bought as a retirement gift was awesome on the website, but even nicer when it arrived.
The guy who build these is an Iraqi vet named Kyle Maliszewski. Anyway, If you want to find him, just Google his name and if I remember, he has all 10 of the first search results.

Definitiely a keepsake piece, not for the casual desktop guy. That being said, the craftmanship is beautiful.

"The types of wood we will use (normally several) have to be the best in their class; especially Spanish cedar, which, if not correctly dried, will possibly warp as well as leak sap later on. Since most humidors I create have an allowable trickle of air, that factor must be incorporated into the design as well. The objective here is to allow the humidor to breath just a little, so that the humidor need not be opened for long periods if necessary. "
I wonder what that means? Just most? Not all? Looks like a lovely box for a couple hundred cigars, but at that price point, or for just a couple hundred more, I would be talking to someone else (B.S.). I guess if that is exactly what you want, and you can justify the price tag, it is a stunning looking piece of furniture. I would like to know more about the "allowable trickle of air"

A beautiful piece of art that one can also use as a humidor.

"It is important that the humidor gets air from outside the humidor occasionally. Many will tell you that you should open the humidor every week or so during periods where you are not regularly opening it to smoke the cigars. But what happens when you go on vacation or are out of town for a while? My thought on this is to create a humidor, like we do, that allows a small amount of air in based on the seal and the hole in the bottom for the humidifier's AC cord to exit. We could seal that but choose not to for this reason. Many humidors seal tightly and that is okay if you are opening them all the time. I personally feel that a little (very small amount) of air should be allowed in. Every humidor I make is tested for humidity correctness for several days after seasoning it to make sure it maintains the correct percentage at all times. "
okay, I dug in his site and got that.
It's a (beautiful) humidor...... With a hole in it...
I don't have the woodworking skills to craft anything as nice as that, and can certainly admire its lines and the laser carving though!

I am incredibly confused. Are you Kyle himself? Because you are using the exact same pictures posted on your website, even in the same order. Clearly who ever you are, you are not the purchaser of said humidor. I suppose you could be the guy who set up the website, considering you share the same name, but you clearly came haucking a product and a website. Perhaps you should contact the Team of Eleven and just get your name set up for a retailer instead of acting like a "satisfied customer", it just comes off as spam. :hm

Hmm, I don't think that price justifies it. Find someone with a nice laser engraver and do it yourself. Hell, you would save your self maybe a grand or more.
Sorry to be a parade rainer, but it is true. I know several friends with lasers and they could do it for under 200 bucks considering they would also design their own art work for the box.

Nice humidor...very hard to justify the price since you can have a cabinet custom made for less.

I appreciate all the responses. However, I did not think the some would question my honesty and consider the post spam. It's unfortunate even though I understand people's skepticism on the Net.
Anyway, I purchased this humidor through an eBay auction, Item number: 140310840499, and paid on March 31, 2009.
Now, since I have figured out how to post images and link to them myself, I have added the below picture. You can also go to eBay and look yourself. Maybe in the future I will add some pics of the humidor inside my own house.

Trust and respect is earned - especially in an internet forum such as CA. As a brand new member who hasn't participated or interacted much, nobody really knows if you are honest or a spammer/scammer. I'm not accusing you of anything underhanded. I'm just trying to explain why your reception may not have been as warm as you expected.
Alarm bells tend to go off when someone tries to sell something immediately upon joining.

It just didn't add up. Your first post is bragging about the humidor you bought, saying it arrived more beautiful than when you bought it on the website. Why wouldn't you have posted the pictures of your own humidor rather than the pictures from the website? Well you bought it on Ebay, not the website, now you have shown us that you paid for it on the 2nd, your first post was on the 5th. So unless it was shipped overnight, assuming that your payment went through immediately, you wouldn't have had the humidor on the 5th. Also, no where on Ebay does it say that Kyle is a veteran. You seem to have had a vested interest in this business and immediately came in bragging about it and encouraging all of us to check it out, despite not having your humidor. So unless you already had it, which you likely did not, I am not sure how you could claim it was more beautiful than you thought. Also the fact that you and a member named Kyle Mizsr3i2cboe seem to be joining a number of cigar forums only recently with similar posts about the same humidor seem to be very odd. You also use the "cheap chinese import" line similar to the Ebay item and the website and tell us to search for Kyle's name to find out more about them. Why would you have googled his name if you bought it on Ebay?
Your photos are also placed with direct links from the website, not Ebay, not sure how else to direct link the photos from the website without having their location, since searching for the web address you use for the pictures yields no results. :hm

I did ask, and when confronted he came back with a conflicting story to his original one. Just find it odd, first post claiming the superiority of a humidor he hadn't even seen yet. Kind of like a first post claiming that some people are wrong for assuming he is selling something. This is a nice community we have here and most people have a pretty good BS meter and something like this throws it up real fast, and it seems a lot of the time long standing members figure it out sooner or later. :tu

If something seems to be suspect, we will react and if we are wrong, we will admit it when proven wrong. This approach has worked in the past as you may understand when you see more of this board's culture. Keep in mind that on this board the community is as important as the cigars.

I dont follow how Maliszewski putting up another humidor up for auction dis-proves Adams claim??? Why? Because there is a link to the designers website???
Im not saying that tfallis is trying to trying to shamelessly plug anything, and Im not saying that he isnt.
And I must agree with Adam, that you shouldn't say that "others dont see it". Please dont speak for others on this board, especially when there have been more that agree with Adam than dont.
Anyway, its a beautiful humidor. Kudos to the craftsman.

Although he was very excited and post whored all over the net, this guy seems legit. Anyone with accesss to AKO can look up Thomas Fallis, I can't, but the guy in the last post did.
http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4048709
I think if tfallis had just waited and taken his own pictures instead of using the manufactures pics everything would have been all right.
So the moral of this story is, if you buy something new that is "crazy expensive" take your own pictures so people don't think you are trying to sell said "crazy expensive" item in your first post.:2:2

Regardless of the OP's intent, as a craftsman I must admit it is a fine piece of furniture. As for the OP I too find it odd he signed up at multiple sites all at once to brag about his new purchase.
The main question I have is whats the whole "Military humidor" thing?
No disrespect intended and if I need educated feel free to do so but is it just the engraving that makes it a Military humidor? Or is is intended for just Military members?
Advice to the OP if affiliated with the builder just introduce yourself or have the builder do it, offer up your products and treat folks fair. Build it and they will come! Many vendors have had great success here and elsewhere that way.
