Wow, talk about the old days :r
Everyone was a noob at one time. Hell, with new cigars & blends coming out frequently, new cutters, new lighters, etc, I still consider myself a noob in many areas.

If you're still a noob, then I have no hope.

Cheer up Joe. You may not have Louie around as your mascot, but now you have me. I think Tom wants to designate me as CA's poster boy.
I seem to fit the bill pretty well. You've seen the photos...
All someone needs to do is photoshop me into a straight jacket and we have ca's new mascot.

Ah, the good ol' days. I bet you guys didn't know it, but Poker used to be a baseball star:2193.
Yup, he was a pretty good catcher for the Giants back in his day. Unfortunately he got knocked up and had a baby out of wed-lock:2194.
Well all that squatting and the carousing really ruined his knees, and what with a child and all, he had to give up baseball.
He went into "show business" on the streets of San Fransisco to support his new son, 2199
That worked to put cigars on the table and raise his son right. Eventually, though, his son got into the wrong crowd, and unfortunately got sent up on weapons charges in Compton. Once his son finally got out of prison, his son was never the same 2203
But Poker has things in perspective and now spends his day quietly modding a cigar board and slowly going through his stash of vintage cigars. If you're ever in Westminster, Ca, on a sunny Sunday morning, you can sometimes see him on the street corners, just for old times sake, selling contraband cigars and testing the Rh of dogrockets2198
:D Ah, the good old days
(kudos to IHT, Andyman, backwoods and Aaron for the photoshops)

No worries, AL was still older than dirt back then.

For anyone out there wanting some nostalgia, Club Stogie is back up in archive form at clubstogie.com. Basically where it ended in 2008. Since Puff is dead (still feel I let a lot of people down when I sold) when they gave up the domains, I grabbed clubstogie just so I could put the history up for those interested.
Important note...while it acts and works like an active forum, it is not. Cigar Asylum is...CS is just there for any old Gorillas that want to check out the past.

Paul, so good to "see" you. You and Club Stogie brought me to the social world of the cigar culture, where I travel all over the country to smoke cigars with Gorillas and Inmates.
About to click in the archive and remember where it all started for me and lots of others here. :)

Oh wow! That's awesome, Paul. Thank you. Hard to believe all this time has passed.
I will be checking that out and thanks for posting it Paul. I had joined CS not too long before the change. There are still a couple people I wonder whatever happened to from there. A few made the switch to CA but dropped off the radar soon after. Like Al. screen name was ahc3453 I think. Al came over and I just looked but it's been since 2012 since he logged in. I still remember when we were in Massachusetts and learned my mother in law had perished back home in a house fire. We had to load up and head back the 1100 miles to get home. Actually somewhere on the Garden State Parkway Al called me on the phone to offer his condolences. It was my introduction to the cigar world and I have very fond memories.

Very cool, thanks Paul. Some very good memories from those days!
Glad I can deliver some nostalgia! It was funny, when Puff went under (great/sad story there) I watched the URL's for ClubStogie and Top25Cigar. They bounced around a bit, but finally got them both back.
Next step is to try and get the old cigar review database from T25C back up for "old days" purposes. That's a little tougher, as technology has changed a lot since 2009!
BTW, so freakin' cool to see all the names again! When I sold the sites, I was overwhelmed with my 5 year old twins. Those twins are in their first year of college now! Enjoy every day, they fly fast!

I hope you can get the review database back, there were some gems on there!
Hey guys - I have had a couple people reach out and ask if they can still log in and see some of the "hidden" forums they had access to.
Answer: No clue. :) I am assuming the old emails and passwords came over, and likely the retrieve passwords functions work. But really have not dug into it. If you have a specific request, happy to look into it if you want to IM me here. No guarantees, but understand the desire to see the entirety of the "old world'.

No lie. The old version was in .asp if anyone remembers that. Will need to convert it over, but I agree, there was some great humor in there!

Classic! I literally know nothing about the forum software, I picked it as it had an easy import facility from the old VB database!

Bump...any progress, Paul?
Not much! I keep the forum software up to date so there is always a record of our history, but have not done much more. I was able to get both Top25Cigar, and ClubStogie (obviously!) domains back.
I am hoping to have a new review software written like the old one we had at T25C. Something where the reviews are coming from the public, and tabulated like before. I used it a ton, and can not find anything like it today.
Open to suggestions! Now that the twins are in college, it seems hard to believe I sold the two sites to help financially way back then. Life goes on!
