When you are smoking it? I dont know if I am just a dipshit but I tend to drop my cigar quite a bit. If I am just sitting down relaxing I never have a problem but when I am up and moving...playing darts, ping pong, whatever I get instant butter-fingers. This does not happen on 100% of my cigars but the numbers are astounding:( Dropping the stick usually is not that big of a deal, the ash breaks and may need a touch up burn, but I cant help but feel stupid everytime I do it.

Am I alone or is there anyone else that wans to admit to this shameful mishap?

No, but I once balanced it on the edges of a glass of soda, and naturally I brushed against the glass- in it went. Boy, that thing sucked up the liquid like a sponge. Coke infused stogie, anyone?

Tie a rubber band around your cigar and finger(s) when you smoke. LOL j/k I have not dropped my cigar yet because I can hardly put it down.

Maybe you are so relaxed during your cigar time that you lose all feeling in your body. :D

That's my guess. ;)

I don't typically drop my sticks unless I am at working and rest them off the counter and accidentally hit them or something.

Here is a post I made a while back.

Today at lunch I stopped by the B&M to get a couple of sticks. Walking back and forth for a while the guy told me that they just got in these Olivero Classics. I asked what he thought of it. He told me that he had not tried one yet but the boss whas smoking one right now. That was good enough for me so I got 2 of them. I normally like to get 2 so if I like it I will have another for later or if I dont like it I will be able to give them a second chance.
Well, when I left work I realized that I did not have a cutter or a punch with me and ended up cutting it with my pocket knife. After firing it up I hit the road. It started off somewhat hard to draw but loosened up after a couple off hits. when the ash was about 1.5 inches long I held it out the window to blow the ash off. I did not go anywhere so I tapped it a little and it still did not blow off. Well before I knew it I was crossing lanes. fortunatly there was no one in that lane.
Further down the road I had another 1.5" ash and tried the same way to knock the ash off. Same thing. so I tried again to tapp it. This time I lost grip of my smoke and it flew back in the window, hit my leg and disappeared. Now I am all over the truck to make sure this thing is not burning through the seat or going to burn other things if you get my drift.
Again, I am bouncing all over the interstate, so I made my way to the shoulder to retrieve my cigar from who know where in this truck. I found it behind the seat still burning away and still had half of the ash on it.
fortunatly nobody was hurt and I got to finish my smoke.
I ended up smoking it till it burned my fingers so I guess it was worth the hassle.
If you like sticks that hold a good ash, the Olivero classic is the one.
I will wait until I get home to fire up next time.

Haven't actually dropped one. I have, however, had a couple fall out of an ashtray. My local cigar bar haunt has some ashtrays that don't have big enough "fingers." They're big round ashtrays with grooves that require the stick to balance a bit. I've been sitting there working on my laptop with the cigar resting in the ashtray when the ash will drop by itself, the balance will be thrown off, and the cigar will fall out, right onto my lap or the floor.

I was hanging out with my girlfriends father and some of his buddies. He got up to go relieve himself in the woods, but took his beer, and his cigar with him. Somehow in the confusion, he put the wrong end of the cigar in his mouth, immediately dropped it into his beer, and while trying to save the stick dumped the beer on his foot. I'll never mention it, but his buddies are never going to let him live that one down:r

I am pretty good with cigars, but my pipe I drop all the time. It will be hanging out of my mouth while watching tv and next thing I know it is rolling down my chest dumping ash the whole way. :fl I cannot seem to hold a pipe in my teeth, so I should just quit trying and keep my hands on whatever I am smoking. :tu

I've dropped my cigar after many beers. Picked it up and smoked it with the wrapper cracking apart. I've dropped one in the ashtray before too, but finished it - I smoke totally dry, so no ash stuck to the stick.

Yeah, pretty much only drop my stick when I'm drunk.

I'm a WWII reenactor, and I've been known to run/shoot/jump/duck/hit-the-ground with a small cigar stuck in the corner of my mouth and haven't dropped one yet.

I seem to drop them when I get down to the nub, and am trying to pinch it in my fingernails so as not to burn my fingertips. Being that I do not have long fingernails, that is tricky and usually results in a dropped nub.

That's a bad case of tobbaco abuse- you may have to go into solitary seclusion. If I hear of a another case I may have to report it for a full investigation. I can't afford to drop cigars around here- the dust is so bad and the percentage of feces in that dust is unbelievable, so with those two items I make it a priority to keep my smokes in complete control.

Last time I dropped a cigar was about 3 years ago and I have not dropped one since. Here's the story. I am in my local B&M where I was a member for about 4 years in Framingham, Ma. A few of us are in our leather chairs and sofas watching the game and after having our lunch of pizza, chinese food, yes we always had our food brought in, I drank enough to have to excuse myself to the bathroom. I had been smoking a nice Opus X at the time and was into this cigar only about 1/3 and excused myself to go do Gods work. I'm in there doing his work with the cigar in my left hand and breathing a nice sigh of relief looking upward and I suddenly realize that something is amiss. I feel and hear this hissing sound like you hear when something is being extinguished and I got that really really sick feeling and look down and notice that my cigar is not leaning outside of the line of fire but rather in direct line of a full bladder attack. My mind goes into overdrive thinking that I can save this marvelous cigar when in fact my heart knew there is no such animal. Making things worse was the production I put on when I tell everyone in the room what my smoke of the day was going to be. I thought I'd be able to sneak back into the lounge without anyone noticing that my beloved cigar was in essence, pissed off literally, and here I am sans cigar. The questions came fast and furious from the lounge, "hey, where is that great Opus cigar of yours, did you drop it in the can?" I wish,,,,after more and more grilling from the members I finally had to tell them. I swear you could hear the laughter from downtown Boston and from then on I am ALWAYS aware of where my cigar is at any time. I'm thinking I learned a very valuable and expensive lesson.
