What's the deal with this? My humidification device, with the florists oasis in it, has mould in it. I'm not sure where I got the unit, but it's the only one with mold. My cigars are fine, but I yanked the device out of the humidor for now. I was going to get rid of the guts and put beads in it instead. I think this unit may have had some dry mould in it when I got it and it flares up mould when in the humi.
Anyone else see this before?

When using an Oasis foam humidifier, it's important to use propylene glycol.

It keeps the mold form growing and spreading to your cigars. As well, it also helps keep the humidity in the 70% range

I think I'm just going to yank the foam out of there completely, give the chamber a good clean and put Heartfelt beads in there instead.

I thought distilled water was the preference. Oh well. Always learning.

You actually use a mix of distilled and PG. But beads are the way to go.:tu

ONLY use distilled with beads....with foam you must use the PG solution to inhibit mold growth. So switching over to beads is the way to go.

Now if you use PG solution with beads you will find your beads getting clogged up and they will not work as well.

Hope this helps to clarify. :tu

The last time I saw it in one of my old desktops, I switched to beads and haven't seen it since. Beads are the way to go! :tu
